I was looking through the film reviews trying to find information on a film called “Four Christmases”. I noticed that the name of the movie was now “Four Holidays”. These secular zealots are really getting under my skin these days as I see so many similar attempts to expunge the word Christmas from our culture, and to attack and belittle the religion of Christianity. Which is a strange kind of compulsion to be suffering from for a bunch of people who describe themselves as tolerant liberals.
If they’re so damn tolerant, why are they so driven to attack those with different worldviews? Even more bizarre is that in their obsession with demonstrating this faux tolerance, they rush to embrace other cultures and whatever religions these cultures may bring. Where’s the campaign to describe Eid, (Muslim) and Diwali (Hindu) for example as “holidays”? These events are always described as bringing dynamism and vibrancy and a welcome diversity to our society and fawningly referred to by their correct names. Christianity though, and Christmas, must be snuffed out. The left make no attempt to explain this double standard. In fact, most of them are so completely infected with that dull forelock tugging desire for complicity with the proscribed secularist worldview, I doubt the hypocrisy of their actions even occurs to them.
On David Horowitz’s blog there is an article entitled “The Left’s Ten Most Stupid Attacks On Christmas”. It finishes off with two separate Christmas messages. One for the left and one for everyone else-
To my friends on the Left: Please accept with no obligation, implied or explicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2011 but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only nation in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.
To my friends on the Right: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
About sums it up, but of course raises the obvious question, how have we allowed such a screwed up bunch of people to rise to positions where they control our society? How could we possibly have been so lax in our vigilance? Once the situation is repaired, as it will eventually be (at a cost we still do not know), the catch cry must be- Never Again..!!

Happy new year Red.
I have come to the conclusion socialism works because the electorate is socialist.
But perplexing because the electorate has distanced itself from Liarbour but have yet to comprehend they have voted Liarbour back in.
Ficticious times and ficticious leaders indeed.
We just have to be content that Goff, Mallard et al will never see treasury sets again.
Nor Richard Prebble, Jim Anderton, Roger Douglas. Nor the deserving.

We were debating a similar thing over on CR.
I noticed a distinct lack of the mentioning of Christ or any display of the nativity scene here in NZ. It’s been pretty lacking for a while, but this year seems even worse. There also seemed to be a lot less carols as well.
Sad that we deny our very founding heritage, and the God and Saviour behind it. Is it any wonder that violence and every other form of Godless practice is escalating within Western society as a consequence? I think not.
And like your article (page 12) said, Red:
That’s it in a nutshell.

“That’s it in a nutshell.”
It is too, a very accurate description of what is happening.

I am glad that I was brought up in the UK with Divinity part of my school cert exams and sad that my son brought up in NZ was not exposed to religion, except by example from his largely non-church-going christian parents. As with most things in our society the battle is starting too late with several generations having gone wrong so who is left to teach the young?

So right Red.
It’s sad to see our heritage being subordinated to the touchy feely and the relativists.
Pope Benedict was correct when he spoke of the “Dictatorship of Relativism”.
Happy Holiday — Bah !!
Merry Christmas to all, and peace in your families. 🙂

In the run up to Christmas on TVNZ morning show someone emailed in and asked of the decorations, why no stable ie Christian theme, the blond claimed she tells her children about the real Christmas , the bloke,Rawdon Christie mumbled something about not offending people!(maybe he should chnge his surname)
So now having a Christian theme in Christmas decorations is offensive.I considered sticking in another BSA complaint against these mugs but like my other ones I knew it wouldn’t run,so let it go on this occassion. Mind you if you get a chance do stick it to ’em, they don’t like it up ’em!
On one of the news’ TVNZ described the visitors to Bethlehem as “tourists”, not pilgrims. I have my doubts about whether they’d dare call the visitors to Mecca during the Haj as “tourists”, no I reckon they’d be accorded the respect due to them as “pilgrims”,you see they aren’t Christians so are to be respected.
We are tourists they are pilgrims. We’re on holiday they’re on pilgrimage.
Here’s an interesting one from Canada. It’s worth a read >We should stop upsetting others .

And these are the kinds of stories that the left and multiculturalists claim aren’t true.

I see that NotPC (who is in fact, PC) has his annual Christmas post up postulating over the pagan origins of certain Christmas celebrations. What is it with these “atheists”? Does their sneering derision only extend to Abrahamic religions ?

Well, its possibly a fixation resulting from the fact that NZ’s Libertarian Party is basically being used as a front by militant homosexuals.
Doesn’t excuse the insufferable patronising smugness of the writing though. A personal characteristic Progressives apparently find impossible to avoid.

Do you actually mean that in the literal sense Red ?
. . . ’cause it would explain some of their incessant preoccupations (Christianity for one)

Militant homosexuals are engaged in an intense war against Christianity. I see a similar level of intensity with the same objective on Not PC. The fake blog PC set up to attack me is embellished with many references to homosexuality that I have never used. There has to be something driving such a preoccupation. Especially when they claim a concern with liberty, yet so enthusiastically aid the left in the deconstruction of our society. Makes such concerns look so fake, and simultaneously suggests the existence of another motive.
