For those who are not yet informed on the Journolist scandal, it related to a mailing list that circulated among an unknown number of “journalists” at leading news and opinion outlets in the US mainstream media. The list was used to discuss tactics and how to spin news so as to advantage Obama and discredit his opponents, but it was exposed when a disgruntled member released messages from the list to the wider media. Naturally, not much has been said about these left wing propagandising swine betraying the craft of journalism to partisan political objectives, and unless you use blogs as a news source, you may not have heard of it.
The released messages provided examples of collusion on political issues and how strategies were developed and used to advantage Obama and the Democrats. The list was behind the initial smear campaign against Sarah Palin. The released messages showed Journolisters at first frightened by Palin’s appearance as VP candidate at the Republican convention, and then developing a narrative to demean and discredit her.
Members of the list claimed that it had been abandoned after its discovery. I have always doubted the truth of that claim, and I reckon the slavish use of the word “Reaganesque” in the mainstream media after Obama’s State of The Union speech proves it is still operating. Part of Obama’s repackaging for the 2012 election includes the meme that he has “moved to the center”. A lie. Just a typical left wing propaganda lie. But you can bet the left wing mainstream media, Journolisters and those influenced by the Journolisters, will push if for all they are worth.
I thnk the US list still operates and I think there is a similar list operating in NZ. (I asked Brian Edwards this during an online conversation on his blog and he refused to answer.) Below, for posterity and future reference, is the latest list of known names of the so called “journalists” who participated in the original Journolist. It is believed there were many more participants, and estimates have ranged from 400 upwards.

I mean, I see 10-15 names in the first 50 who have continually laughed at even knowing what the list was….and other actual members BACKING it up…yet, GOP blogs keep posting the list and simply adding every known liberals name

Actually, whats funnier is watching progressives try to argue about who is on the list, knowing the actual issue is that there was a list in the first place. I’m sure Donald Duck will be added to the list soon, because that would supposedly “prove” the list was bogus.
The only people stupid enough to fall for that old ploy would be people stupid enough to think that these journos didn’t do anything wrong.

I’m one of the above journalists who, as noted, was never in fact a member of Jourmolist. There was nothing wrong with Journolist. But I didn’t happen to be on it. There is, however, something wrong with reprinting factually inaccurate information and making insulting accusations based on those inaccuracies, so I would recommend you take your list down until you can do some due diligence and figure out who was on Journolist and who wasn’t.

Normally I might be surprised that a so called journalist might make such a statement, for it once would have seemed to me that no true journalist could ever participate in such a manifest corruption of that trade’s purpose.
To pervert the trade of journalism into a propaganda force for a political party is unforgivable. For example, do you think “journalists”, convinced of their political rightness at the time, who did propaganda for Hitler, are due any credit for their work?
However I am not surprised you say “nothing is wrong”, for I know well how the trade has been so fouled and what unprincipled people these days posture as the bringers of truth and the shiners of light. I know them as the promoters of the thousands of lies that underpinned the global warming scam. I know them for their treacherously one sided reporting of the Iraq war. I know them for their visceral hatred of George Bush and Sarah Palin, and their infatuation with Al Gore, Bill Clinton and Barak Obama.
I once mentally pictured journalists as old crusty editors wearing green shade caps and working at their presses deep into the night in order to fight city hall. Now you are sneering allies of the powerful, hand in glove with city hall, and it is bloggers outside the trade who do what journalists once did.

The trade of journalism is dead. Killed off over the last few decades by a collection of political agents who have perverted that trade into a propaganda force for Progressivism/ cultural Marxism. I do not think it can ever be restored to an heroic occupation until universities are free of domination by Progressive political influences, for I believe it is there that the perversion of the trade began.
(I checked on the web. I see your name on every version of the Journolist that is out there and described as accurate as at August 2010. If Journolist is the good thing you say it is why would you care? Don’t tell me that in spite of the bravado, a Progressive might actually be capable of a smidgen of shame deep down. Surely that’s a breach of the credo.)

I never received an email from the Journolist listserv. I never posted on Journolist. I was never a member of Journolist. I don’t know how my name got on the list you reprint here. I have found, in my work, that when I reprint something based on hearsay and someone with first-hand knowledge tells me it is factually wrong, it is best not to insist that I am right or to run around slinging insults until I have some first-hand confirmation. I think in this case the logical response would have been “If in fact you were inaccurately included on this list, I’m sorry to have inadvertently reprinted this mistake,” or something along those lines. I think this would also be the logical response if you were praising Journolist to the skies and had mistakenly put my name on the list, but it’s particularly apt given that you are impugning the professional ethics of those who were on Journolist.

Funny that it was a good enough method to enable a judge to refuse a law suite aimed at discovering if Obama was constitutionally eligible.
I’m actually prepared to accept that you were not part of journolist, and perhaps you have not noticed but I put a notation next to your name to that effect after your first comment. I think this is better than taking it off, because if others see the list their attention will be drawn to this exchange.
But please don’t dare talk to me though of “journalistic ethics”. Its an oxymoron if ever there was one. The left have made journalism an utterly contemptible profession. I despise you all as I despise those who propagandised for Nazism in Hitler’s Germany.
Just as back then when you were the reverse of what you should have been, endorsing evil rather than resisting it, so you are today with your support for the totalitarianism of cultural Marxism. Whether you were part of Journolist or not is not really material in terms of my personal opinions on yourself or the ethics of today’s journalists, as you have already stated you see nothing wrong with Journolist.

The press has had quite a long time to ‘debunk’ JournoList and has failed at every opportunity. The most common rebuttal to any evidence of the breach of confidence by the liberal/Democrat press is easily summed up as ‘you do it too’, or ‘so what’.
It is quite obvious why more and more people are reaching for alternative news sources because of the virtual multitude of men and women who have given up the search for truth for the false god of ‘progressive’ politics.

In a post on FreeRepublic, BuckeyeTexan explains that my name ended up on the list because I signed a letter to ABC that originated on Journolist.

That’s a logical explanation. I did sign the letter to ABC, after seeing it on a website. I was not a member of Journolist. Please take my name off of this list so the inaccurate information doesn’t keep getting distributed around the internet.
