“I have no doubt that thousands more New Zealanders would be out of work without the Government’s considerable infrastructure programme,” Bill English said Thursday in a speech hosted by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce and Massey University in Auckland. The Government is investing $7.5 billion over five years in public amenities such as schools, state houses, hospitals, prisons and ultra-fast broadband. It has boosted spending on State Highways to $1 billion a year and is investing more than ever on upgrading the electricity grid.

“All up, the Government is spending directly about $6 billion each year on improving infrastructure and with it supporting thousands of jobs across the country,” Mr English says. “In addition, we’ve allocated $347 million over four years for our home insulation programme, which has so far insulated almost 89.000 homes around New Zealand and supported an estimated 2000 jobs. “The Government is also investing $1.5 billion in rolling out ultra-fast broadband and has committed hundreds of millions of dollars to help owners of leaky homes around New Zealand.”

All very fine, except that all of this spending is money the government doesn’t have. Here’s a question for you Billy- What is the main factor in the GFC? Debt Billy. Debt, private and public is killing the west.

Right now, you’re borrowing like a drunken sailor to keep meeting the government payroll made up of a legion of unproductive regulation obsessed public servants and bludging welfare beneficiaries, a dysfunctional Justice system, an inwardly collapsing education system and a barely tolerable race obsessed health system.

Yet you’ve learned nothing by observing these failures. You want to make government bigger and you want to spend more and make this country carry an even greater burden of debt than the barely serviceable one it carries right now.

The education system is a dysfunctional socialist propaganda organisation that breeds half educated socialist zombies with no concept of liberty, our history, or the sacrifices that our forefathers made in the name of liberty. It is the most destructive device that exists in this country. Yet you want to help it grow. You want to give more money to Marxist teacher’s unions so they can molest the minds of our children and cripple and hobble the most valuable resource we have- our offspring.

You want to build more state houses. Just what the country needs. More ghettos of a drug manufacturing wife beating gang raising racist and violent culture that is too great a burden for the country to bear right now. And you want to add to this millstone.

Roads and prisons I’m not going to criticise you on right now. Its long past time the country had decent roads, (we can argue about their privatisation later) and we’ve been down on prisons, a legitimate government expenditure item, for far too long as well. Build those prisons, and let’s fill them to the brim with the stinking criminal class that is killing this country, and when they’re full, build more and jail more. Getting crime under control is probably going to pay off in other areas. But there is still the problem of paying for the rest of it Billy. We need cash and we are not ever going to have it if you keep growing the size of government.

When the hell does it ever stop Billy? How about you stand aside, get your damn thieving socialist hands out of our pockets and we’ll do it all without your help. As we once did, and without any kind of need to mortgage the future of two or three further generations of NZers to service government debt.
