About time Hughes came clean and told the public what happened. If he “did nothing wrong”, why can’t he be fully up front about the event? If he “did nothing wrong”, its clearly just a mistake that he is “under investigation”. Why then resign as an MP? Check out this hare brained rubbish. These guys can’t even produce a good cover story-
Goff in the Herald– “Events of the past few days have made it increasingly clear to Darren that the controversy around the allegations made against him has made it impossible to carry out his duties. In reaching that decision he is adamant that he has committed no offence. He needs to focus on clearing his name. I agree this is the right decision.
In a statement, Mr Hughes said his position as an MP had become untenable. “Although people are commonly thought to be innocent until proven guilty, it has become clear to me that this doesn’t apply in the political arena,” Mr Hughes said. “I have done nothing wrong, and I remain confident that the legal process will have the right outcome. ”
This is so weak and has so many logic holes only Goff and Hughes could be so lame as to try it on. Darren did something wrong. He knows it. The victim knows it, and the cops know it. That’s why Hughes resigned.

Says it all, no matter how much spin is applied.

Yeah, and the only thing left in this really is who takes over from Goff. I think we’ll find there’s been a bit of a cover up on Darren that might make it impossible for Goff to cling on. And who takes over from him is really only interesting for the sake of speculating who it might be. They’re all a hopeless lot of Marxist dropkicks and drongos.

Even in Labour nobody is stupid enough to want Goff’s job prior to the election.
Hughes has over stepped his usual behavior and been caught out. Classic example of predatory queer getting younger man drunk and it all goes wrong. It was only a matter of time.

Which raises the question:
“Has there EVER been a queer MP who has not lied through their teeth, been totally self serving, and pandered to other minority interest groups with the aim of pushing their own agenda and securing their future aspirations?”
All in defiance of the will of the people.
And that most queer MPs have also been leaders of the charge in socially engineering New Zealand society, and thereby redefining this nations morality and values, comes as no surprise either.

Hmm, well given the Foreshore legislation and its proposer it would seem the National Party have their own that answer this discription.

Robert,
Yes, I was including Mr Findlayson. Of course I hardly consider National as conservative OR rightwing. They’re just Labour-lite traitors and have damaged NZ just as much as Labour did under Helengrad.

Am I the only one to find Hughes behavior unacceptable regardless of the poofter angle?
Imagine you have an 18 year old daughter off to her first year of Uni. Politically interested to the extent of having been youth MP. Attends a political debate in O-week and is preyed upon by a 30yr+ MP, who would have been her “hero” when applying for entrance for her pol-sci course. You then find that she has been fed alcohol to the point of unconsciousness, perhaps some drug more vile as well, to end up running naked through the streets to be rescued by police, who then go and see whether any evidence may be collected from the perpetrator’s abode or CCTV footing.
I am probably old fashioned, but I’d have a bloody hard time restraining myself.

Bez, I’d suggest if you have a daughter who wants to take Poli-Sci, your problems run deeper than some creepy arsehole of an MP!

It seems likely that the police went to King’s house to retreive the poor guy’s clothes. It is possible that King was not home but even if that was the case I think it very, very unlikely she would not have been informed. Why do the media ask Goff and King any hard questions?

Whereas Goff has demonstrated what a bumbling fool he is by his mismanagement of this event, I don’t know who could be doing it better, and it seems like all we have to step into the void anyway are more queers or lesbians.
What a joke Labour are. A party of taxing regulating private property attacking business destroying spending addicted Marxists queers and social liberals trying to present themselves as the most favourable choice for middle NZ families.

Chuck, one of the biggest threads we ever had on Crusader Rabbit was caused by a misunderstanding.
Various mainstream journalists (including John Campbell) came on and vehemently defended themselves because they mistakenly thought they were being criticised for being right wing.
This episode showed me, the media don’t care about criticism from the right, but they really get upset at criticism from the left. That’s why they never ask left wing politicians any hard questions.

No demerits from Farrar. Just shows how biased his demerits system is. If they’re a queer loving Progressive or social liberal like Farrar himself they’re practically immune.
I’ve had about 100 demerits just for the use of the word “fuckwit”. Damn hypocrite. Just another National Party Progressive blind to his own double standards.

One could substitute National for Labor in that comment and hardly be far off the mark….

To be fair, RB, the comment “A party of taxing regulating private property attacking business destroying spending addicted Marxists queers and social liberals trying to present themselves as the most favourable choice for middle NZ families.” could apply equally to either of the main parties.
I was considering pinching some more space on Crusader Rabbit to write a post about this Hughes affair. The smarmy, condescending victory dances going on over at Kiwiblog are completely cringe-worthy. Those retards don’t realise that the reason National is so popular and has stolen so much of the Left vote is because Liarbore are a total joke and National are just implementing their policies. If Liarbore were strong, National would be forced (at least a little) to the Right.
This whole Hughes affair is the fault of the Klarkenfuhrer. This story would never have broken under her watch, and it’s because she was such a control freak and didn’t plan for succession that they’re in the mess they currently face. They’re just fucking lucky there isn’t a strong leader in their ranks who can take over, or National would be in danger of suffering what I like to call the ‘Abbott Effect’. He rolled that wet liberal fuckwit Turnbull 8 months before an election, when the Coalition were about as popular as NZ Liarbore are now, and he came within a bee’s dick of winning (only a few retarded Country Independents propping up the communist regime in Australia). As it stands, Liarbore will get smashed in the next election and there will be nothing to stop Key pushing National even further to the Left. Good for National, but very very bad for New Zealand

Yes, resigning as an MP does speak volumes.
Resigning his responsibilities would have been more in line with international practice.
Here in Britain we have seen Liarbour MPs staying in their posts until the bitter end.
The one from Barnsley Central hung on until several weeks AFTER the courts had found him guilty. Only then did he resign his seat.
I can only wonder what else Phil Goff and Annette King know.
Surely Madame Full Moon knows what went on under her house on this and other occasions.
Now, that Jonathan Marshall is on the case, I am sure he will get to the bottom of it, as it were, as I have blogged at my place.
The tabloids should be having a field day with this one, and yes, there is the angle of what expenses were being claimed by Hughes to stay with Annette King.

KG and Gantt- I was thinking exactly the same thing. (about Labour National being so similar in so many ways)
National could still get done anyway with the Foreshore and Seabed Legislation and Winston Peters. It ain’t necessarily going to be the cakewalk many think.

This would not be the first case of Labour taking extreme measures to protect a sexual predator. In the other case it involved a 14 year old boy at a public bog. Ian Wishart tried his best to get at the facts. National to its shame could have done something but choose not to.
