The National Newspaper Publishers Association is affiliated with the hundreds of newspapers across the country that cater to the black community or, in the words of the NNPA, “The Black Press of America”. The Northeast Publishers Association is a smaller association that best characterized as the trade association for black newspapers in the Northeast.
The NPA has prepared the advertisement below to go in black newspapers across the country. Walter Smith, a director of the NNPA, blasted out the advertisement to many on their email list with a note saying, in part, “We can educate our readership by either running this ad or making a similar statement in our newspapers.”
The advertisement embraces the idea that Barack Obama was not born in the United States — a position rejected by most Americans. It’s bad for Barack Obama when even the black newspaper publishers of America think he is foreign born.
The ad is bogus on two counts. 1) Constitution XXII deals with term limits. 2) Sec 1401 defines citizens and naturals. Sec 1401 does not define Natural Born Citizens. The definition on the poster also appears truncated and incoherent.
The Constitution has different requirements for Congress/Senate, versus the President. The definitions are different, for good reason.
The real issue with this ad is that it appears to be a tacit admission by the black newspaper organisations that Barak Obama does not meet the “Natural Born Citizen” eligibility requirements, but more, THAT HE WAS BORN OVERSEAS.

I believe the black vote only constitutes 13% of the total electorate in the US. And from what I have read many are turning away, disillusioned with the anointed one. This little ad will be way to little way to late.

Yes poor work regarding Amendment 22, Section 1, it seems to entirely deal with term length.
I can see how you’ve drawn the conclusion you have in terms of this being an admission but I don’t agree. The main point they are making that the US constitution doesn’t require the President to have been born on US soil and that seems to be correct.
This is 8,1401 section (d)
The following shall be nationals and citizens of the United States at birth…
a person born outside of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents one of whom is a citizen of the United States who has been physically present in the United States or one of its outlying possessions for a continuous period of one year prior to the birth of such person, and the other of whom is a national, but not a citizen of the United States.
So even if we hypothetically say that Obama was born in Kenya he still seems to qualify due to the fact his mother was living in the US prior. Doesn’t this ruin the whole ‘birther’ argument really? (which was the point of the ad) Even if he wasn’t born in Hawaii, which I believe he was, he still seems to be eligible to be President.

Why is it that people are so unwilling to understand. You cannot just be a citizen, or a naturalised citizen to be President. You have to be a “Natural Born Citizen”, as per this diagram.
And if he did turn out to have been born overseas then he’s guilty of lying and fraud and needs to resign anyway. Leaving aside that he has a stolen social security number and is therefore guilty of a felony.

I think you are incorrect, if this section of the law can grant McCain (who was born on a naval base in Panama) ‘natural born’ rights then I fail to see how it cannot apply to Obama.
“In September 2008, U.S. District Judge William Alsup stated obiter in his ruling that it is “highly probable” that McCain is a natural born citizen from birth by virtue of 8 U.S.C. § 1401, although he acknowledged the alternative possibility that McCain became a natural born citizen retroactively, by way of 8 U.S.C. § 1403″

“then I fail to see how it cannot apply to Obama.”
Well, that you fail to see something Joe is your problem not mine. Suffice to say McCain’s birth circumstances were subject to a senate inquiry of the kind Obama has never submitted to. (Demanded by the Democrats by the way.) He was born of two armed services personnel both born in the US and serving overseas on active duty. Therefore exempt.
Obama was born to a white trash whore not old enough to qualify him for citizenship and a drunken Kenyan adulterer and bigamist. He’s just lowlife, and it shows.

Yeah cute, I’ll avoid figures of speech then. This law clearly does apply (in this hypothetical situation) and is able to grant ‘natural born’ status to someone born outside the US. This is all BS anyway as Obama was born in Hawaii and most convincingly of all is President of the United States.

Revisiting the Provenance of Obama’s Certification of Live Birth
–Robert Klein Engler
Writing in Digital Journal, Michael Krebs quotes Donald Trump on the ever-growing controversy of Obama’s birth certificate, “Didn’t think this was such a big deal, but I will tell you, it’s turning out to be a very big deal because people now are calling me from all over saying please don’t give up on this issue,” Trump said.” (1) For many journalists and commentators the questions surrounding Obama’s records have always been a big deal. Joseph Farah at World Net Daily has been hammering away at the birth certificate issue even before Obama took office.
Viewers of the TV program Antiques Road Show on PBS know how important the provenance of an antique is. It can be the “big deal” that makes the deal. “It is to an object what a deed trail is to a piece of land.”
On many occasions, a valid provenance also gives a document heightened value. The provenance offers evidence about the time, place and the person responsible for the creation, production or discovery of a document. In the case we are interested in, Barack Obama’s Certification of Live Birth, the provenance of this document will go a long way towards answering the question about Obama’s natural born US citizenship status.
Questions continue to swirl around the Internet image that purports to be Obama’s COLB. Some have analyzed this digital image and said it is a forgery. This is the position taken by Pamela Geller’s webpage, AtlasShrugs. There we read, “…as I have been saying repeatedly since I first compared the KOS images to the Decosta image using the same tests and measurements–the image is a horrible forgery.” (2)
Along the same lines, Ron Polarik claims, “There is conclusive and irrefutable evidence that the COLB image created and distributed by Obama’s campaign to the Daily Kos, Annenberg’s Factcheck, and the St. Pete Times…is, unquestionably, a false identification document.” Polarik then adds, “Obama’s real COLB is a nonexistent document.” (3)
In spite of Polarik’s claim, the image of some document was posted online and was subject to digital analysis. Few have ever seen the original from which the digital image was made.
We have no solid evidence that Chris Matthews, Glenn Beck or Bill O’Reilly have seen the original COLB. In spite of this, it is generally said the original COLB was first in Obama’s Chicago campaign office. Because of this, many Internet readers have to wonder, as Andrea Shea King reports, how O’Reilly can make the claim that, “‘The Factor’ investigated…we found that President Obama was born in Hawaii. We sent (for) the documents….’” (4)
Somehow, this document went from Chicago to be seen by members of FactCheck.org. They claim it was an original COLB issued by the state of Hawaii. It is alleged that this document was brought to FactCheck’s Washington, DC office by Tommy Vietor. It was then supposedly taken back to the White House by Vietor and resides there in safe keeping.
It would be helpful to know how Obama’s alleged COLB supposedly got into the hands of Tommy Vietor and was seen by a few others. A call was placed to the White House and an attempt was made to contact Mr. Vietor through his Facebook page. We asked about his connection to the COLB. As of yet we have not received his reply.
The trail to authenticate the COLB seen by Factcheck and a few others seems to stop at the White House and Tommy Vietor. What proof do we have beyond this trail that such a document actually originated from the Hawaii Department of Health or even exists?
Because we do not have access to the original COLB, the next best thing would be to see the request made for it. This request will help establish the provenance of the COLB images that appears on the Internet and was supposedly taken to FactCheck.org.
It is a safe assumption to make that a birth certificate request form exists because The Daily Kos claims Obama, “personally signed a Hawaii birth certificate request form downloaded on the Internet, according to a former campaign official who asked for anonymity. (Obama was ‘testy’ when asked to sign the form but did so anyway to put the issue to rest, the former campaign official said.” (5)
On February 15th, 2010 a request was mailed to the state of Hawaii Department of Health. This “Request to Access a Government Record,” sought through the freedom of information act, a copy of the form Barack Obama filed in order to get his COLB.
To be clear, this request is not seeking a copy of Obama’s certification of live birth. As Dan Nakaso notes, “State law allows birth certificates to be issued to family members, legal guardians, representatives of a person’s estate, or by court order or other legal purposes.” What we seek is a copy of the form that must have been submitted to obtain the document that appears on the Internet. Our request will help establish the provenance of that document.
Just recently, “Former Hawaii Health Director Chiyome Fukino gave “an interview in which she claims that Obama has a valid birth certificate on file in Hawaii. Per her, the certificate is half handwritten and half typed and is signed by the delivering physician. She also claims that the information on the “Certification of Live Birth” (“COLB”) shown on Obama’s site matches what they have on file.”(6) Nevertheless, these statements do not address the issue of provenance.
Add to this, statements by Tim Adams, the trail of Obama’s COLB becomes more muddy. “Adams has now signed an affidavit swearing he was told by his supervisors in Hawaii that no long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate existed for Barack Obama Jr. in Hawaii and that neither Queens Medical Center nor Kapi’olani Medical Center in Honolulu had any record of Obama having been born in their medical facilities.” (7)
This is not the first time misinformation was put out about Obama’s vital records. CNN chief Jon Klein maintained that Obama’s original birth certificate was destroyed when Hawaii’s Department of Health moved to digital records. Janice Okubo, public information officer for the Hawaii DOH, said, “I am not aware of any birth certificate records that have been destroyed by the department. When the department went electronic in 2001, vital records, whether in paper form or any other form, [were] maintained. We don’t destroy records.” (8)
And there probably was a record of Obama’s birth somewhere, because Obama himself admits he had a copy of a birth certificate. “On Page 26 of Dreams of My Father, Obama writes: I discovered this article, folded away among my birth certificate and old vaccination forms, when I was in high school. While this brief quote does not state WHAT article it is that Obama found, it does mention that he found it WITH his BIRTH CERTIFICATE. This would have been in the mid 70s, so this birth certificate would not have been a computer generated document.” (9)
Nevertheless, when we return to the computer generated document, we discover another oddity. According to Carol A Tabler, writing in the American Thinker, “The registration number on Obama’s “Certification of Live Birth”…is out of sequence to other birth certificates issued on the very next day in Hawaii to a pair of twins named Nordyke (certifications of live birth and birth certificates carry the same registration number (as a COLB). (10)
More importantly, even if this COLB is valid, and is the only one on file and posted on the Internet, “The “Certification of Live Birth” posted online and widely touted as “Obama’s birth certificate” does not in any way prove he was born in Hawaii, since the same “short-form” document is easily obtainable for children not born in Hawaii.” (11)
So who’s telling the truth here, Adams, Obama or Fukino? At the moment it is impossible to know. If the COLB posted online is not based on any long-form Hawaiian birth certificate, then the provenance of the Internet documents is in question.
If it cannot be established that Barack Obama or his agent requested from the state of Hawaii sometime around 2007 a COLB, then the provenance of the document that appears on the Internet remains in doubt. There is a gap in the provenance that makes one question the COLB’s authenticity.
More seriously, because of that gap, reasonable doubt will remain that Obama is a natural born US citizen. Given such doubt, many ask how can he fulfill the requirements of the US Constitution to be president?
More than a year has passed since a letter was sent to officials in Hawaii asking for a copy of the “Request to Access a Government Record.” So far, there has not been a reply from state officials in Hawaii. The “Request to Access a Government Record” remains unanswered. They had ten days to respond to the request. Maybe Donald Trump can make the same request and get a prompt reply.(12)

Joe – you cite section d “The following shall be nationals and citizens of the United States at birth…”
A citizen at birth is NOT necessarily a Natural Born Citizen. Anchor babies obtain Citizenship at birth, but they are not NBC’s. McCain obtained Citizenship at birth, but he was not a NBC.
I’m not sure where Redbaiter gets that McCain was born to 2 armed service personnel. Only his father was in the navy, his mother was a naval wife (I’m pretty sure the Navy doesn’t pay the wives just for being wives! 🙂 However, from the evidence submitted, McCain was NOT born in the Canal zone, he was born in Colon, Panama – which was just right outside the Canal Zone. The Canal Zone was never under the sovereignty of the US, so even if he were born in the naval hospital, he still wouldn’t be considered a NBC.
Like Obama, McCain was born with dual citizenship, thus dual-allegiances. How can anyone born with dual-allegiances, be a natural born citizen of either country? McCain never brought it up – as he was ineligible as well. They can’t. There is one question you should never be able to ask POTUS – which country of citizenship do you profess to swear allegiance to? This question could be asked of both men.
Should either of these men find themselves in the dueling country of their citizenship, they are then under their jurisdiction as citizens, not foreign visitors. It’s a dangerous situation for the POTUS to find himself in – thus, the Founding Fathers sought to disallow such a situation from ever occurring. Even they knew how dangerous such dual-allegiances would be to their newly created nation.

The whole McCain thing is a red herring. The debate is about the eligibility of Obama.
The constitution trumps any other law, for the exact reason that otherwise congress could simply redefine all of its meanings to suit whatever purpose of lesser legislation.
Whatever any lower court determines ultimately the eligibility issue is one for scotus in this weird situation that the founding fathers would not even have contemplated, namely that there ever would be a morally corrupt lowlife who would willingly set out to destroy the spirit of the proud nation they were envisioning, and that that spirit would already be so weakened that this lowlife wasn’t scrutinized sufficiently by the citizenry and the fourth estate on precisely the criterion they reserved for the holder of the highest office only.

“Obama was born to a white trash whore not old enough to qualify him for citizenship and a drunken Kenyan adulterer and bigamist. He’s just lowlife, and it shows.”
On this whole argument about Obama’s citizenship, this comment pretty much sums up the real reason for the keen focus. It isn’t about government, or protecting the empire. It’s about the color of his skin.
The Supreme Court has already spoken on this issue. And even if they hadn’t the only sane response would be the same: “Get over it.”
