John Key- Wanted To Be PM Since Ten Years Old

Key holding hands with jailbird and "Maori" sovereignty activist Titiwhai Harawira
Now I have got to say that is weird. And I’ve also got to ask, is someone who harbours such an unnatural ambition the person we should elect as PM?

Key had no political idea at that age, and doesn’t seem to have developed any since. He seems to have been continually bereft of political ideology but driven by ambition to be PM and prepared to do anything to achieve it.

If a man is obsessively driven to obtain that something, and will do anything necessary to obtain it, I guess sometimes that can be admirable. Sir Edmund Hillary climbed Mount Everest. That took determination courage and skill. All qualities to be admired.

But with John key, its not about climbing mountains, its about politics, and I say that anyone who merely wants to win the prize of PM and has no political mission is not anyone I can admire.

I would think that the PM should be a person of principle, and John Key, like so many on the left, has shown he is not bothered by such constraints. Key became PM as National’s leader. The question is, would he have been just as happy becoming PM by means of the Labour party leadership?

In opposition he was against global warming. Once elected, and to boost his popularity, he reversed his position on this. As a result, the country is now burdened with a damaging and unnecessary carbon trading scheme. Just like Labour wanted.

He was against Maori separatism, but after the election, unnecessarily drew the Maori Party into government. A party whose objective is Maori sovereignty and whose co-leader once said Europeans had caused a “holocaust” in NZ. Key approved the flying of the Maori Sovereignty flag at Waitangi and on the Auckland Harbour Bridge. NZ is as a result of Key’s craven about face, split culturally and racially like never before. Helen Klark too curried the favour of the separatists, until it backfired on her.

The National Party’s founding principles clearly state their opposition to socialism. Key said before the election he would turn the socialist actions of the extreme left Klark government back and provide tax cuts. Once again, Key betrayed his words and has not only refused to turn back the Klark excesses, (Working For Families for example) he has continued in the same vein, cancelling or neutralising promised tax cuts and continuing with other initiatives purely socialist in nature.

Key criticised the Klark government for attacks on freedom of speech in attempting to introduce restrictions on election spending. (The EFB). Once elected, Key passed an almost identical bill.

These are just four examples of Key’s duplicity. There are plenty more, and I say the reason for this deceit is Key’s ambition. He wants to be PM and that is all. He has no political mission. He is an empty suit. A fraud and a charlatan taking NZ further into the mire of Marxist/ Keynesian socialism. Approved of by a fawning left wing media because they themselves are happy with his bland socialist persona and glad he is not true to National’s founding principles.

Key has achieved his weird boyhood ambition, but it has been at the expense of this country’s well being and its future economic prosperity and social cohesion. Shame is he had the support, and if he had a been a man of principle and firm and well founded rhetoric, he could have drawn NZers into his mission and taken the hard steps that the country really needs to take. He didn’t. He sold out to pragmatism and his obsession with popularity and his cheap boyhood ambition.

NZers will soon pay a heavy price for this grinning fool’s preoccupation with his personal goals over the security and economic fortunes of the nation.

RB, a rhetorical suggestion. The caption under the pic above refers to a “sovereignty activist.” At this point in time, why stand by their self-serving description for themselves? Wherever you see someone called an activist or community organizer or the such, why not go with words closer to the truth, such as “sovereignty agitator”? What’s the downside? For a change they might resort to calling YOU bad names and ban you from “moderate” forums.

Just to be clear, the above is not a criticism. I tend to focus on tactical matters more because it fits my engineering abilities better. I wish I had you talent to address several issues at once as you have done with your condemnation of Mr. Key (much like Mr. Lacey did with the racism issue in fact). Your approach is much more strategic, and, as such, any tactical suggestion may not fit it, which is why I categorized it as merely a suggestion.

Right on the money. But the sad thing is, it doesn’t matter very much since NZ is now a socialist country. And all that will change that is a harsh dose of economic reality lasting years.
I thought I loathed Helen Klark, but it was nothing compared to how I feel about this grinning duplicitous jackass.

I’d like to dedicate the following to John Key and all the other charlatans, liars and traitors who deign to rule us and hold us in subjection. Your day will come!

Pro 19:5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

Pro 14:5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

Isa 59:3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
Isa 59:4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

    1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

And doesn’t the following sum up much of our society today and the attitude especially of those who seek power and leadership for their own selfish ends:

2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures …

Let’s not forget the National Party executive that are totally smitten with Key. Over at http://homepaddock.wordpress.com/2011/09/09/turn-silver-into-gold/#comment-39536 the question of morality was raised after HP’s comment – “Intelligent people understand that in politics it’s better to take the slow road forward in government than to speed back to opposition.”

where Evans replied “Does not make it morally right.”
HP came back with this – Evans “is doing something that you know will enable others to do wrong morally right?”

I posted – “I am not interested in power for power’s sake, but I’m interested in power that is moral, that is right and that is good.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

Sally – “I agree with that quote. History is littered with examples of the dmaage done by people motivated by power for ppower’s sake rather than to make a positive difference. Fortunately that doesn’t apply to our current leadership.”

I am still shaking my head in disbelief at her ridiculous comment.

Pascal- I welcome your comments whatever their nature. As for “activist”, I find the preceding two words (Maori sovereignty) to be pejorative enough. However I take your point. There’s an essay you might find interesting here-

When I talk to NZers who in the main are not that interested in politics, I am often disappointed by their narrow frame of political reference. They just do not think about it in any great depth, because they are not that interested in such things and have other things that interest them. Hence they are easy prey to political exploitation.

Sally, one of the amazing things about some of the National Party’s supporters is how myopic they are. That quote from Ele is but one example. Of course Key is motivated by power for the sake of it. He has no vision for our broken nation, he’s merely fulfilling a boyhood dream of being Prime Minister. The fact is, he would have been equally at home in Liarbore, or even the Greens. He has no moral or ideological base from which to make his decisions. He made millions by making deals, and that’s how he’s approached the Prime Ministership. The Maori Party wants all the foreshore and seabed? Why sure, if they’ll support me then why not? We could gain 3 more Grey Lynn votes by having an Emissions Trading Scam? Great! The Grey Lynn vote is the one we want. Never mind those rural and regional people who we will be bending over, they’re never gonna vote for anyone else anyway! (Insert evil laugh here).

Had the Klarkenfuhrer’s minions carried on like the Quisling Key’s are … no, scratch that … WHEN the Klarkenfuhrer’s minions carried on like Key and his acolytes are, those same people who will now excuse virtually any degradation were up in arms, wailing and gnashing their teeth, crying like a pack of little girls about how eeeeevvvvviiiilllll the Klarkenfuhrer was. It’s disgusting really. The level of hypocrisy in New Zealand politics is shameful.

I mean, people like Farrar, the wets at No Minister, Ele at Home Paddock all screamed and yelled about the Electoral Finance Act (but have been completely silent when National passed one almost identical). They cried and threw tantrums over Sue Bradford’s anti-parenting law (actually, John Key’s anti-parenting law because it relied on his support to get through the House), yet said almost nothing when Key disgustingly ignored 90% of his employers on the issue. They grizzled and moaned about Liarbore’s Emissions Trading Scam yet somehow Nick Smith’s one was allowed to pass virtually without comment. And those are but three examples.

Of course, Liarbore are no better. Fail Goof whingeing about National “selling the family silver” when the cabinet of which he was a member sold off several billion dollars worth of “assets”.

The National Socialists and Liarbore; two sides of the same coin. At the end of the day, it’s still socialism. A fucking disgrace. And the deaf, dumb and blind sheeple keep on voting for these scum.

Yep. And they will for the forseeable future. Ele at Homepaddock is almost the archetypical middle-class NZ voter–dumb as a bag of hammers, historically uninformed and blind to the inevitable consequences of her myopia. As always, feelings trump facts.
These people cannot be reached with logic. Fear, greed or resentment might do it but Key and his ilk have learned how to play on those emotions -or minimise them.
It’s a slow waltz to disaster.

Someone should ask Key if a knighthood is not on his bucket list. The only piece of Labour legislation on any note that he has reversed is that which will allow him to be called Sir John.

He even forced all his MPs to vote against reintroducing youth rates.

There’s something so hammy and fake about the man, I can see it in spades. Full of himself, his own self-importance and puffed-up glory. Why can’t the general populace see it? That plastic grin all the time, yick. Dunno how the wife stands it. Yet, beneath it, he is weak and petulant, yes, obsessed with his own fame. I agree with KG, he makes Helen Clark seem warm and awesome and caring. He’s got the entire National party by the short an curlies as well…
Wouldn’t Muldoon just cringe? Especailly as people seem to think the two are alike! Yeah right.

No Golden Girl, Muldoon wouldn’t cringe. Where Key controls his cabinet by surrounding himself with morons and “yes” men, Muldoon controlled his through fear. The person who *would* be turning in his grave about now is Sid Holland. I can imagine him sitting in heaven thinking to himself “how did that empty suit get the leadership? He’s ruined my party!”
