Shawn Stevens is a great little guy. I know, because I watched the video, wherein he explained how the flag was given to him by a family friend, the mother of a Marine who had just been deployed to Afghanistan. He was so impressed by the flag he took it to school to show his 7th grade classmates.
Schoolteachers confiscated the flag because they adjudged it a danger to other children. The 60cm stick that held the flag was fitted with the standard gold spear tip that has a point about as broad as a five cent piece. I guess this was thought by the teacher concerned to be far more dangerous than a pencil, or a pen, or a knife or fork in the cafeteria.
This could be just a dumb teacher, but I can’t help getting the feeling there was some anti-armed forces sentiment somewhere. I wonder if Shawn was wearing his “Support The Troops” T-shirt (seen in the video) at the time.
Kimberly Lynds, co-principal of the school said-
“This was a safety concern. It had nothing to do with the flag, it had to do with the size of the stick that the flag was on.”
Yeah right.

Pity pretend reasons hiding ideological nasties aren’t run down.
The response should be a big soft round rubber flag tip incapable of injuring anyone. Let them try to ban it again.
Calling their bluff is important. The more convoluted the sophistry from the left the sillier their manipulations look.
