A few years ago the board of the NZTA was stacked with Labour Party cronyists. I don’t know whether that is still the case, but whoever is running the place now, their fascistic tendencies are more blatant today than they have ever been. One would think that National might have reined these dirt bags in, but apparently not. The NZ Herald reports that the Transport Authority is covertly filming NZ drivers. Collecting information on around 14,000 cars a day using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras.

This bunch of dirty little fascist scum think that they can do anything in the name of the “greater good”. I guess they could in a one party state tyranny, but NZ is meant to be a Westminster style democracy, where citizens have historical rights, and these rights are the basis by which our culture has become a world leader in terms of respect for freedom, individual liberty and plain old civility.

These rights are under threat more and more every day as government power grows. If the National Party was true to its principles it would rein in this pack of ignorant authoritarian thugs at the NZTA. They won’t though, because in reality, National is just Labour in drag, and if you ever doubt the truth of that claim, then you only have to witness events like this to have those doubts dispelled. The NZ Herald reports-

NZTA’s Auckland media manager Ewart [“Mussolini”] Barnsley said the data collection had not been disclosed until now. “There was no publicity, mainly because we weren’t going to share the information with anybody.”

Steven Joyce really needs to get the NZTA under control. I’d start by firing the board and the top 5% of management staff.
