US Constitution- Natural Born Citzen Clause “Discriminatory”

Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution stipulates presidential eligibility, requiring the nation’s elected chief to be a “natural born citizen.”

The clause states: “No person except a natural born citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”

The clause “Natural born citizen” is generally accepted to mean a person born in the US whose father and mother were also born in the US, although the exact legal definition is a matter of debate. Nevertheless, the intent is clear, and that is to try and ensure that the US President is not ever at risk of holding any allegiance to any other country.

New York lawyer Abdul Hassan, who was born in Guyana in 1974 wants to run for President of the USA. He has petitioned the Federal Elections Commission to allow him to do so. In his legal argument, Hassan contended the constitutional eligibility clause discriminates against naturalized citizens.

THAT’S RIGHT MORON, IT’S MEANT TO DISCRIMINATE…!!!

The courts have decided that Hassan has a case, at least in part, in that although he may be barred from holding the office of President, he is not necessarily barred from running for that office. This piss weak finding brings to mind a quote from H.L. Mencken.

“If all the lawyers were hanged tomorrow, and their bones sold to a mahjong factory, we’d be freer and safer, and our taxes would be reduced by almost half.”
