These three successful bloggers are the flag bearers for the so called right wing blogosphere.
Not one of them is a Conservative. In fact they frequently insult and malign Conservatives.
They are all Progressives.
With only some slight tweaking to their economic views, they could all fit quite comfortably into the Progressive wing of the Labour Party.

Good post, particularly about Slater. The guy is a first class hypocrite. He goes on about deadbeat dads. I can understand some fathers taking off to Oz or wherever when all meaningful contact with their children is blocked. Who is providing for Slater’s kids – the taxpayer. I know people who suffer from mental health problems but I find it very hard to sympathise much with someone who is so nasty. He has no right spend so much of his time abusing “deadbeat dads” and greedy oldies while he is on a benefit because he has such an obnoxious personality no one would employ him.
I also think it is outrageous that he live on the taxpayer while spending his time lobby for so called gay rights.
BTW – is it okay to talk about Jim Peron. You know the sick puppy who ran a libertarian bookshop in Auckland but could not get his visa renewed when immigration discovered his past. I was appalled to find out that he is still in contact with well known libertarians who think he should still be here.
I know I am opening myself for an attack by Slater and his friend Cathy Odgers but I am more concerned about the future of NZ children and do not want them taught that the homosexual lifestyle is a valid alternative to marriage.

One thing about the homosexual marriage debate, its really drawn a political line in the sand, one that no politicians have had the guts to draw.

Cactus Kate associates with the ACT party, who have always been libertarian. David Farrar is fairly liberal, and is paid by the National Party who is hardly very conservative.
I don’t think they’ll be entirely insulted by this post. They’d be more insulted being compared to Colin Craig.

A sad reflection on how degraded the “conservative ” voice has become.
The left wing project to undermine the traditional base of the west has been successful and marches on practically unopposed.
The so called marriage equality bill epitomises it. I’ll be watching the National MPs on this and am not at all hopeful.

You are quite right. The History of Freedom has always been cursed with these types. They could have been described as wolves in sheeps clothing apart from the fact that they slither on the ground because they have no legs. Like the snake in the Garden of Eden, they tell lies, misrepresent and suck in the naiive. What is bad about these types of scum is that they think that they know better than anyone else, need to have a say about someone elses property or the earnings of someone elses time and sweat. Busybodies who think that they see the “Big Picture”. Or their latest weird theory should be pre-eminent.
Obviously, their parents may not have been married because they are so accurately described as bastards.
When all that people really want is to be left alone, to get on with, and enjoy life.

I see where today Farrar is quoting the New York Times and Whale is quoting David Frum.
Also, Whale frequently quotes from the Fairfax press.

Tourism, Ag (butter fat, forestry, meat, wool, wine, horticulture),some IT….errr, what else….real estate, education, …..are all of NZs foreign export dollars.
NZ will eventually have some sort of currency “union” with Aust.( ie. adopt AUD) then political union with Aust, ( if you can’t set your interest rates you can’t run a country) brought on by the next failure of our tiny welfare state and its expenditures.
The last state asset sale will desperately try to finance the last ACC BS claim (a matey has been on 80% of his last salary indexed for the last 28 years) and that’s all she wrote.
Fake Right and Left in NZ are conjoined twins….a proper little social compact with bankruptcy in its stars.
The sadness is that the only way to access first world medicine in NZ in a couple of decades will be via an Aust Medicare card because you are a resident.

I was listening to ZB the other day when Key was fielding calls from the public. Most were anti homosexual marriage, but the shocker was a comment Key made. Essentially he said:-
“This gay marriage is not a big thing” and “it’ll not affect MY marriage to Bronagh”.
I think that this is an apalling misreading of the emotions involved in this debate and also an insult to those who have been married in the eyes of God as well as those of the State. Secondly his comment about his own marriage really shows how shallow he/it is.

I stopped reading Odgers blog yonks ago, who really gives a crap about how great HK is, her ‘conquests’ and getting pissed. I do admit this is the first pic I have seen of her……does she go through as many brown paper bags as condoms. Farrah does have a good political mind but ‘right wing’…..at the best ‘progressive’. Whale does have ‘issues’ but if he is a conservative Mark Levin is a Marxist. As a new resident of Invercargill, I do cring sometime when Louis Crimp speaks but as much as I agree with what he says he needs to work on how he delivers it. I am proud to say that I voted for Colin Craig last election.

The problem is that there is no right-wing conservative intelectuals in this country. Where are our Right Wing writers, thinkers etc?. Where is the NZ equivilent of the French or Italian New Right??
Farrar is a liberal progressive who sees politics as merely a sport (he could easily be a labour supporter and it would make no difference to him). Odgers is merely an amoral mercenary, devoted only to her own personal enrichment. And Slater is a maniac, who seems (at the moment) to have devoted his manic energy into the promotion of the destruction of the marrige instution.
I doubt that any of them has even opened a history book, or have any idea of the underpinnings of Western Civilisation (that would take too much work!!).
