The left in NZ have long ago revealed their strategy to unseat the National Party. The foundation of their plan was the destruction of John Key’s personal appeal.
So don’t think for one minute that Shearer and Cunliffe and Norman actually give a damn that the government’s powers to spy on its citizens will be increased. They’d have to be different to every other leftist in history to think that way. And of course they’re not.
Opposition to the GCSB bill is only an attempt to damage John Key’s popularity. If they ever win government, the left will not make any changes. They might go through the charade of a “review”, but in the end (as David Farrar reports) they’ll do nothing of consequence. Leftists love spying on citizens, and they will relish the opportunities this bill affords. One of the main reasons why it should be stopped.

The Labour party cannot come up with any “policy” of their own as Key has stolen it, so their only option left is to oppose anything that the National party proposes……..even if it is the most idiotic and child-like thing they can come up with.
I can’t wait for Cun(t)liffe to take over the reins as he is an idiot, not that it will give us any better choices as to whom we elect.

Yes, he’s an idiot for sure, but the idiot hard left of Labour are going to elect him I suspect.
I remember when he first entered parliament. Absolutely clueless concerning its democratic traditions. Sneering and arrogant and unaccountable, he’ll make the perfect leftist leader.
