By Redbaiter- in the leftist's lexicon, the lowest of the low.

The only escape from socialism is running out of other people's money.

I think the commies on the extreme left (Labour Greens, Maori) will be elected to power in NZ, and the far left commies (National) will sit on the opposition benches.

Meanwhile in Australia, Kevin Rudd announced the election date at the weekend (Sept 7th). A key issue in Australia is economic management. The Rudd govt. issued a statement recently saying this years deficit would grow from $18 billion to $30 billion.

The last time any Labour budget produced a surplus was in 1990. Every Labour budget since then has been in deficit.

Labour are trying to say that govt revenues are down. They’re not. They’re actually a fraction higher this year than last, but spending as a percentage of GDP is 2.5 times higher. Socialists in Australia are sending the lucky country broke.

If they’re elected here in NZ, expect more of the same. Labour and the Greens will send NZ broke, just as Rudd and his left wing loons are sending Australia down the tube.

The bottom line in all of this is the number of voters receiving other people’s money through redistribution policies. Once these policies are implemented, its almost impossible for them to be repealed. Going broke is maybe the only real option, and the only way we will ever end up with a government reduced to the size it should be.

So don’t be too downhearted. The sooner the economic collapse occurs. the sooner we can fix it. I mean really fix it, for this is the only way the parasites voting for other people’s money will be disenfranchised.

I don’t think the Nats losing power is anything to worry about too much. Its the proverbial cloud with the silver lining, and eventually it could be the turning point that we have awaited for so long. Apparently there’s only one way we can escape form this socialist nightmare, and that is by running out of other people’s money. So let it happen.

Ideally revenues falling for a Govt is actually a good thing! Lowering the revenues and only focusing on core govt is what every good govt should do. The problems come as you rightly point out when there are entitlements that need to be paid for and those entitlements grow every election round. We have it totally back to front at the moment.

And I see that Rudd–unbelievably–is saying he intends to campaign on the economy!
