England was the crucible of individual liberty. Who is responsible for making it the Orwellian society it is today?
The story is about a disagreement between commuters on a train. A Eastern European women and a black man believed to be of Jamaican descent engaged in an argument, and the woman said the man’s perceived poor behaviour was partly because he was descended from slaves.
This relatively mild event becomes a major story in many UK newspapers, who regard it as important because of the woman’s “slave” argument. I’m not concerned with that. So some woman not intimidated by the Progressive’s long standing campaign against freedom of expression spoke out. She may have said something bigoted, she may not have. Was it true, or was it untrue. It just doesn’t matter. Or it shouldn’t matter.
Here is part of how the Independent newspaper reported on the incident, and these are the words that chilled me-
A video of a woman who appears to tell a passenger that his ancestors “used to be slaves” during an argument on the London Underground is being investigated by police.
It is not known when the incident exactly took place but the video is being investigated, the British Transport police said.
A spokesman said: “Officers are currently analysing the video and are appealing for the person who recorded it to come forward.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any other information, is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference T/B11 of 12/02/2015.
So the woman is being vigorously denounced to the “authorities” for holding views others do not agree with, and forthrightly expressing those views. And the authorities are trying to track her down and requesting further denouncements from her fellow citizens and train travellers.
How Orwellian is this? And let’s assume that the writer of the piece (Lamiat Sabin) has a University education and probably a degree. As the sub editor and editor of the paper probably has. Yet they all self righteously buy into this barbaric attack on freedom of expression, and the denouncement of the woman. So outraged at her confrontation of Orwellian speech codes they cannot observe their own savagery.
What on earth did these people learn at university? It certainly wasn’t anything about the traditions that made England the leader of the free world. A position they held out of their reverence for the principles of individual liberty and freedom of expression.
When one looks for the reason for the continuing steady decline of our civilisation its hard to escape the conclusion that the education system is one of the main drivers. If Lamiat Sabin and staff at the Independent newspaper are anything to go by, it is producing ignorant of history barbarians. They hold enormous power, and they are coming after anyone who dares to differ with them.
