Magna Carta essay competition an exercise in cynicism

Can you believe this?

Magna Carta essay competition launched

Attorney-General Christopher Finlayson has today launched the Magna Carta 800 Essay Competition for New Zealand students to recognise the 800th anniversary of the signing of Magna Carta.

“The fundamental values embodied by Magna Carta, such as rule of law, are as relevant today as they were in 1215,” Mr Finlayson said.

“As one part of a broad programme of events being organised by the Magna Carta 800 NZ Committee, this competition provides New Zealand students with an opportunity to express what this historic document means to them and to New Zealand,” Mr Finlayson said. The competition has both a High School and University category and is open to all current New Zealand secondary and tertiary students. Essays must be submitted by Friday 1 May 2015.

The essence of the Magna Carta was that everyone should be treated equally under the law and that justice is blind. This competition is organised by a govt that splits the country along racial lines again and again and again, not least by having two Justice systems split on race grounds.

Then we have special govt departments based around gender all over the place and I don’t need to list them. Not to mention “hate ” crimes where special divisions of our society are treated differently in law to everyone else.

Not that many of our young will have any idea about a concept based around the oneness of a country. Pumped so full of Progressive ideas that divide us on so many issues, how could they ever write an essay that deals with the essential points of the Magna Carta?

And anyway, everyone knows that if it isn’t on X Factor it can’t be anything worth knowing about.

Yes – what better way to remember Magna Carta than by ditching the flag that symbolises our relationship with the country that gave us the institutions that enabled us for most of our history to be one of the best places in the world to live.

For what – some tribal symbol that will no doubt celebrate our imposed “diversity”.

These Socialists in Blue make me want to puke.

Yeah, good point- The Magna Carta is as relevant as ever but we need to disassociate ourselves from those cultural roots that produced it. The Nats make me sick too. Posturing falsehood is their speciality.
