I’m suspecting this is one of your usual affirmative action placements, another damn Commissioner holding her position because she’s female and not by any degree of ability.
Retirement Commissioner Diane Maxwell needs your help. Maxwell is asking readers of the Dominion Post to put their thinking caps on and come up with “catchy” names to describe retirement in the three phases she has dreamt up. Its a “competition”.
The idea is the biggest load of cock and bull I’ve read in some time.
“We’re rather roughly calling them early, middle and late, but I’m sure the New Zealand public have much better phrases,” Maxwell says.
To enter the competition, simply send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org outlining your ideas for any or all of the three stages.
The winner or winners will be invited to a High Tea at a suitable date with the Retirement Commissioner and Maggie Barry, Minister for Senior Citizens.
For any winners outside Auckland, travel costs will be covered by the Commission for Financial Capability.
High Tea with the Commissioner? And an MP? What the hell do we pay these women for? To sit around drinking bloody tea with people who win silly competitions about nothing?
This Commission is a walking disaster anyway with a record of disorganised reorganisations sacking and relocations and apparently no real idea what their mission is. They seem to epitomise Petronius Arbiter’s famous quotation-
“We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning
to form up into teams, we would be reorganized. I was to learn later
in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing;
and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress
while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization.”
Good grief the elitists who run this country, those smug fat cats who are siphoning so much money from the productive sector into their own pockets, for doing as in this case SFA, are in need of one damn good hard kick up the arse.
And sack Maggie Barry too, another anti-Conservative watermelon prog who should be in the Green Party, leaching off the voters and doing stuff all. As this story shows.
