Australian Senator Bernardi- not afraid to speak the truth on “refugees”

Muslims burn Denmark flag
Can someone who is a fan of NZ PM John Key explain to me why it is impossible for Key or any other NZ politician to speak the blunt truth as spoken by Australian Senator Cory Bernardi?

From an SBS report

The refugee crisis in Europe is becoming an “opportunistic cycle” that is masking the true humanitarian need of persecuted Syrians, Liberal senator Cory Bernardi believes.

During debate on a Senate motion on Syrian refugees, Senator Bernardi accused Greens leader Richard Di Natale of using the image of a drowned Syrian toddler to evoke emotion.

Senator Bernardi said the boy’s death was not related to the humanitarian crisis in Syria because the family had been living in Turkey for years and were in no danger.

“The father sent them on that boat so the father could get dental treatment,” he told the Senate on Monday.

Senator Di Natale earlier said the boy had become the human face of the unfolding humanitarian catastrophe in Syria and implored the government to accept an additional 20,000 refugees.

He labelled Prime Minister Tony Abbott a coward and said the government would rather drop bombs on Syrians than pay attention to the plight of people who needed humanitarian assistance.

The Greens senator withdrew that comment after objection from Senator Bernardi.

Senator Bernardi said Australia needed to maintain a measured humanitarian program, and already had the largest intake per capita in the world.

He is concerned about a growing trade in fake Syrian passports and Pakistanis ditching their documents and pretending to be from the war-ravaged country.

“Of course there is a problem, but you can not just open your borders and allow any number of people come through without the checks,” he said.

“Many of these people have been very safe, working and housed in places like Turkey for years.”

Senator Bernardi said the problem should also be shouldered by Middle Eastern countries.

Well said Mr. Bernardi. Politicians unafraid to speak truth are as rare as rocking horse excrement these days.

Update: More of what Bernardi said in the Australian Senate, and spot on again-

“People were drowning at sea because of the incentives that were being provided by their cockamamie humanitarian ethos. It is much more humane for people to go through an orderly migration program, to be put in a place where they are safe and where they do not have to take such tempting things.”

“The father sent them on that boat so the father could get dental treatment….”

“A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.”

It’s a blatant lie propogated by fearmongering fools.

Really? Not according to the man’s sister.

      Oops!

Who knows what the truth really is? We do know for sure, however, that these people were not fleeing war, violence or persecution in Syria. We do know for sure they were country-shopping, like so many of the other “refugees”.

Maybe you should stop getting your “information” from the antique media, and open your mind to the possibility these people are, in fact, an invading force seeking to do to Europe what they failed to do in the 1600s.

Breitbart and the dailycaller?? This is where you get your ‘news’ from? I won’t even go into the amount of bullshit these sites are posting as it would take forever to dispute a mile high pile. These sites cherrypick, twist and spin information to suit their agenda. Links they supply are he says she says but no confirmation is supplied in the majority because it doesn’t exist or it’s been spun so far they won’t put a link. They rely on people simply reading a headline, skimming an article, not bothering to look, and believing in fairy tails.

I’ll bet you haven’t even read them and the links supplied in them. Anyone with any amount of comprehension skills would smell it a mile off. And the video with “Syrian boy drowned because his Father wanted new teeth” emblazoned across it comes from UKIP. I’ll assume you know who they are. Again playing to an audience of dunces.

Maybe you should stop getting your info from sites such as these. Oops! indeed

Even if true (which is doubtful), any bias on sites like Breitbart and DC exists only as a balancing for the outrageous leftist bias right across the antique media.

If you’re sufficiently stupid/naive/brainwashed to believe the line about these “refugees” being fed to you via the antique media, your political overlords and the UN, then there’s no point arguing with you; you’re probably some green-voting nutbag, and so I’ll not be wasting any more energy on you.

Can’t back up the BS so run away. Typical. Oh, and I’m a Nat party supporter. We’re not all loons who are easily fooled by the likes of sites such as these.

You say BS, I say information. Because of course the primary source for information about them living in safety in Turkey was the Wall Street Journal (which I’m sure you would consider a “reliable” new source). And, there is now video everywhere of the aunt saying they were headed to Europe (at her father’s suggestion) so the boy’s father could get dental treatment.

” I’m a Nat party supporter.” You’re a Nat party supporter, and thus the worst kind of ProgressiveLiberal; the kind who believes you’re something else. You are what’s wrong with this country, you and your charlatan John Key.

“Anyone would think an armored division of isis is about to land in NZ.” How would you know? As with most country-shopping welfare leeches, they’re destroying any paperwork before the get on the boats. There’s a minimum of some anecdotal evidence that (former?) fighters are in amongst the flood of migrants into Europe. Is it such a stretch to wonder whether one or two might find their way here? And what do you think is going to happen – if we agree to take moslems among the expanded intake, they will be towards the more “fundamentalist” end of the scale. They have no interest in assimilating into western culture, and you just need to look at parts of England (or, closer to home, western Sydney) to see what can happen. Your naivete is going to get Kiwis killed; their blood will be on your hands.

Still looking for the public opinion polls that support the view we should throw open the doors. Or is it all a fiction and half truths to make a point.

Its a bit like the pictures of the poor people in New Zealand and in the back ground is the flat screen TV and My Sky, and mum and boyfriend are both smokers and drinkers etc.

Had a close look at the Syrian refugees stark difference between these well fed people and the starving masses in Africa.

But once again is anybody going to ask the question. How many refugees do their fellow Arabs and Muslims take in?

“There you go readers. More proof as to why NZ urgently needs a new party to drag it from the progressive morass.” That was in responce to the stupid “some green-voting nutbag” comment. I’d guess by your comment you are likely an act party man (I could be wrong) the coattails party who only get a seat cause the nats allow it.
New party? I’m open to that. I’m also a firm believer in the need for a reduction in the number of clowns we currently have in parliment. So what do you think a new parties ideology would or should be.
In responce to this article, I’m just getting tired of watching the pants pissing brigade in their cowardly rush to hatred with their lies and twisting of facts. Anyone would think an armored division of isis is about to land in NZ.

How about these for a set of principles?

To promote good citizenship and self-reliance; to combat communism and socialism; to maintain freedom of contract; to encourage private enterprise; to safeguard individual rights and the privilege of ownership; to oppose interference by the State in business, and State control of industry.

Throw out silly accusations cause you got nothing else. The nat party will never be true to those words. They’re called politicians for a reason, ie get elected at any cost. Educate yourself, it’s not hard.

The link Red posted in the comments on the previous post, which is to the Frost interviews, is very telling of how politicians have changed. The then Labour leader and PM, Norman Kirk, answers a question about his political views and his answer is a world apart from the poll driven and spineless polititicians we endure today.

Highly unlikely but what is a dead certainty is welcoming in IS sympathizers, the enemy from within.

No need for an armored division if you can achieve the same objective by stealth and deception.

Many impregnable Castles and walled cites fell because a group of locals opened the City Gates to an invading army. And history has a bad habit of repeating itself.

Redbaiter, lol. Now I remember you, the Herald when they had an open forum probably 7 or 8 years ago. Used to get your ass handed to you on a regular basis. Probably still as easy to do now as it was then.
Still going on about the same things as well. Why don’t you start a party along the lines you suggest. I doubt it would get much traction as there are still enough responsible, thinking people in this country who live in the real world but you could have a go. I’m sure caleb would give you a vote.
You started this site around the same time if I remember correctly. What have you got, maybe 10 regular posters? Doing well. Bout the same number of votes you’d get.
Since this is your site I’ll assume I’ll get the boot so ttfn and keep up the lunacy. You’re always good for a laugh.

This is for The Gantt Guy:
“And, there is now video everywhere of the aunt saying they were headed to Europe (at her father’s suggestion) so the boy’s father could get dental treatment.” I pointed that out to you in my original reply. Have you watched it? “…..aunt saying they were headed to Europe (at her father’s suggestion) so the boy’s father could get dental treatment.” Nope you didn’t watch it did you. Either that or your comprehension skills are limited. “I think he should go to Europe for his kids and a better future and then we’ll see if we can fix his teeth” that’s pretty much word for word. “…..we’ll see if we can fix his teeth….” (repeated for you because of your lack of skills) the ‘we’ bit kinda shoots a big hole in your and UKIPs silly assertion.
I’m what’s wrong with this country? ProgressiveLiberal? That would be amusing if it wasn’t so ridiculous.
“Anyone would think an armored division of isis is about to land in NZ.” How would you know?” Let’s just say it’s obvious.
“Is it such a stretch to wonder whether one or two might find their way here?” Nope, it’s not. Of all the people who have already immigrated to NZ and will in the future, are you trying to tell me there were never and never will be any bad bastards amongst them? So I guess we shouldn’t have allowed nor should we in the future allow any immigrants.
“….if we agree to take moslems among the expanded intake, they will be towards the more “fundamentalist” end of the scale.” And you know this for a fact? No,you don’t.
“Your naivete is going to get Kiwis killed; their blood will be on your hands.” Better go buy yourself a couple gross of Depends. It’s obvious you’re gonna need them.
