List of MPs who voted for Malcolm Turnbull in Australian PM spill

Readers please note- The information below is out of date as it is based on information available at the time it was posted. An accurate list updated according to more recent information is available here

I suspect the lowlife in the Liberal Party who betrayed Tony Abbott have severely misjudged public sentiment. All the feedback on social media and talkback radio projects a deep rage within the electorate at Malcolm Turnbull and his actions. This rage is not only targeting Turnbull, its directed at Julie Bishop and many of the others who were complicit in betraying Abbott. Even Scott Morrison is receiving flack for not being more outwardly supportive.

I think the Australian voters are entitled to know the names of each of those Liberal politicians who had a hand in driving the knife into Abbott, so I have decided to compile a list here of the names I know.

These people think our anger will fade. Not mine. This was a despicable act and they should wear their treachery for the rest of their political careers.

These are the Liberal Party reps who are known to have remained loyal to Tony Abbott. (43 names including Tony Abbott)

ScreenShot015

There are 54 who voted for Turnbull. This number includes Turnbull himself. Two arrived too late to vote, (Dean Smith and Michael Ronaldson) but indicated they would have voted for Turnbull anyway. So I have included them in the list.

So there are 56 betrayers. I have 55 names listed below. We are still short one name. By a process of elimination it has to be one of these-

Bill Heffernan or Angus Taylor.

One of these goes to the list of loyals above. One goes to the disloyal below. If anyone can help with identifying this last betrayer it would be much appreciated.

Update 12th October.

I have been told by various sources that Angus Taylor was likely to have stayed loyal to Abbot. Louise comments that Angus Taylor sat next to TA at this weekend’s LP Conference, and that Taylor was also left out of the ministry. I think its fairly safe therefore to decide that Taylor voted for Abbot and Heffernan’s name should be added to the list of betrayers.

Any wonder why so many people have become disengaged from the democratic process. It has been destroyed by a scum permanent political class.

Yep, and then they go spare when someone like Donald Trump gets up. No matter what you like or don’t like about Trump, he listens to the voters and holds the MSM in contempt.

Most other politicians today appear to do the opposite- hold the voters in contempt and grovel to the MSM.

Rudd were playing games . Turnbull wanted an ETS and sided with Rudd,Labor ordering his backbench to vote with Labor . fortunately the Coalition and the Greens at that time in the Senate voted against it . Make no mistake ,after the next election , Turnbull WILL bring in an ETS . At the moment cunning Turnbull is trying to win over the population , which he will end up doing , just wait till after the next elections , he will force us to have an ETS

Agree, it was disappointing to see the lack of loyalty shown by Brandis, also Pyne and B Bishop. Tony Abbott was loyal to a fault and look what he got in return. I’m disgusted by the treatment of a kind and decent man by his own party, but also appalled by the hatred and bias shown by the state broadcaster from day one of the Abbott government. I’ve been working most of the last 2 years in Australia and have followed the coverage of political events by the Aussie media while there. What a load of tripe and blather, mostly from people who do not live in Oz or who cannot vote here. Almost every person through my business today preferred Turnbull to Abbott. A few thought that the change should coincide with an election, but that’s not how our system works.

Abbott had his warning, he failed to act, he failed to lead and he failed to deliver. He kept banging on about “stopping the boats” when we all know he was giving to sub contract to Japan no matter the “competitive tender process”. He simply wanted to stop the boats being built in Oz.

He presided over the destruction of the auto industry, and the enormous loss of revenue that will cause, as well as worsening the balance of payments. He was demented in his attacks on the ABC. And he has snapped up the entire supply of Australian flags for a generation.

With Turnbull we will make progress on marriage equality, a republic and an open attitude to science, not one blinded by religiosity.

There’s really only one MP responsible for the downfall of Tony Abbott, and that’s Tony Abbott.

It’s not dishonourable for MPs to vote for another leadership contender – it’s the way the system works! The leader serves only by the will of the party – one might argue that it’s a strength of the westminster system, that leaders can only serve so long as they have the support of their party.

The members and Senators who voted for Turnbull have done a complete reversal on important issues, namely global warming and with the Paris agreement on the horizon there is a good chance that this turnabout will end up having enormous economic impact.

Then there is the ridiculous situation where Turnbull has pledged continued support for Abbott’s policies, when he doesn’t believe in them. This will give the Labor opposition so much ammunition it will considerably weaken the Liberal’s position in the house. How can Turnbull seriously and honestly argue for these propositions when he doesn’t believe in them? Its farcical, and you can’t blame Labor for pointing that out, as they will again and again.

I notice Turnbull using the word “vote” on SSM. Is he already planning to reneg on his promise to hold a plebiscite?

From John O’Sullivan at the Fin Review (courtesy of Andrew Bolt http://blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/andrewbolt/index.php/heraldsun/comments/malcolm_in_the_middle_so_far/ ):

“A good source tells me that telephone and internet messages into Canberra were running at well over the rate of 90 per cent for Abbott and against the parliamentary coup before and after the vote…”

I think these 55 traitors have significantly and manifestly mis-read the mood of the Party membership, perhaps spending too much time listening to the Fairfax and TheirABC pundits and too little in their electorate offices! The timing for the launch of the Australian Liberty Alliance (http://www.australianlibertyalliance.org/) could not be better (especially since they have an international superstar like Geert Wilders making the keynote speech at the launch!).

Sussan Ley, the health minister who changed her name from Susan because of numerology. Not surprised she didn’t have the integrity to stay loyal

Wyatt Roy needs to go back to kindergarten where he belongs. A good argument for banning anyone from standing in their 20s.

John Alexander doesn’t deserve to represent John Howard’s old seat.

Mal Brough and Arthur Sinodinos, two more MPs who were shown unreciprocated loyalty from Abbott. Scum

Julie Bishop, who made it abundantly clear in February that she didn’t support Abbott, has in all likelihood been plotting with Turnbull ever since then. Happy that she was made uncomfortable in interviews yesterday

It may be that within the Liberals those who voted for Turnbull are beginning to think they have committed a major mistake, and that those who voted for Abbot are likewise beginning to understand they may gain some future kudos.

“Democratically elected PM?” No PM is democratically elected by the electorate Caleb. But if you meant democratically elected by their MP peers, then yes, you are right. Which gives those same peers the democratic right to unelect them (sack them) if they don’t cut the mustard. TA was a disaster so they sacked him. It’s really as simple as that. If you consider that disloyal, fine, but don’t mix it up and suggest an Oz PM is elected by the population. That’s called misrepresentation…and we’ve had enough of that by TA lately unfortunately.

Just a tip to get rid of those red squiggly lines in an MS Word document. Do a spell/grammar check when you’ve finished. (F7), then just IGNORE every error. Red lines (& green) will disappear, then you can save it again.

I’ve had another reply, this one from Craig Kelly.

Firstly sorry for the delay reply, as I’ve had thousands of emails in support of Tony and just have not had a chance to reply to all.
I understand how you feel, as I openly supported Tony.
As soon as the challenge was announced, I hit the airwaves in Sydney and Melbourne and also in social media calling for support for Tony. I walked into the party room with him, and I walked out with him as well.
After the loss I felt gutted, and amongst the thousands of emails in support of Tony one said she was in mourning – and that best explained my feelings last week.
Nevertheless, I have to remain focussed on ensuring that union puppet Bill Shorten never gets the power to run our great country – but in doing so, I’ll be also ensuring that our party doesn’t weaken on the strong stances that need to be taken.
Thanks again for your support for Tony.
    Regards,
    Craig Kelly

I’ve got to say in the short space of time that has gone by since Turnbull took the leadership, he looks to me to be absolutely hopeless. An empty waffler.

I think the Liberals have made the mistake of the century and they better start thinking about how they’re going to fix it.

The MSM are making noises as if Turnbull is fresh out of the pack. He’s had a run before, as this comment from Tim Blair’s blog pointed out.
“Turnbull sounded impressive on TV today. He also sounded impressive when he was John Howard’s environment minister and talked his boss into following Rudd on an ETS. It was the end for Howard because he was now a follower, not a leader.
“Turnbull sounded impressive when he replaced the unimpressive Brendan Nelson as opposition leader. Tokenism and blunders and the Libs were heading for electoral doom.
“Turnbull sounded impressive as he fronted the mikes as the communications minister. Two years later the NBN is in more trouble than ever and the ABC is totally out of control.
“Sounding impressive is Turnbull’s forte. Already we hear his first act will be to dump knights and dames and that Marise Payne is the “first woman defence minister”. It’s the same shallow token politics that marred his first three political roles and is likely to end the same way.”

I disagree with this. Angus Taylor is my representative. When I wrote to him to lodge my objection he told me if I can’t support Turnbull I should vote Labor. In other words he couldn’t care less (it’s a safe seat of course). Nah, he voted for Turnbull and I will never forgive him for it. (he is also a known climate change alarmist even though he campaigns against wind turbines).
