I was silly enough to try this political quiz and astonished to find my top choice was designated as Donald Trump and Ted Cruz simultaneously, with 95% agreement in each case.

This is of course a sure indication that the quiz is flawed.

I can’t blame the composers so much because the big problem here is what does Donald Trump really believe. Who knows, when he shifts his position daily?

Here’s a prominent example-

Question- Should Muslim immigrants be banned from entering the country until the government improves its ability to screen out potential terrorists?

If you answered yes to this you scored big as a Trump follower. However Trump does not subscribe to this idea and in the last week I have seen statements from Trump and his advisers strongly suggesting he is walking back from this commitment.

So we have thousands of people who took the quiz earnestly but wrongly believing Trump is providing them with the solutions they perceive as necessary.

Another problem is the actual tone of the questions, which in the case of most internet quizzes are always framed from a liberal standpoint. Example-

Question- Should there be more restrictions on the current process of purchasing a gun?

This is not the question. The real question is- Should the Federal Govt be able to pass laws that challenge the 2nd Amendment to the Bill of Rights?

There are many more in the same vein, but what to do. The liberals/ progressives have mainstream political discourse firmly in their grasp and there is still a long way to go before we Conservatives can claim it back.
