General Debate Monday 13/12/10

“Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Nations and peoples who forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and freedoms.” – Robert Heinlein

  1. The exact reason Barry Smith predicted the impoverishment of the country to the distain of the Beehive who opposed him very vocally whille everything he was saying was coming to pass. He would be vindicated today if he was alive.

  2. I’m being called homophobic and a latent queer over on Kiwiblog again. Standard response of the half educated politically correct Progressive born and bred numbskulls.

Narrow brainwashed and bigoted, they will never understand that homosexuality is not really the point.

The issue is having the government mandate a particular way of thinking as being the only acceptable viewpoint, and labeling anyone who does not agree as insane. With in this case, the made up word “homophobic”. The words ‘racist’ and ‘sexist’ and ‘xenophobic’ are often used in the same way in relation to other similar issues.

It doesn’t matter what the issue, this is a course of action that only tyrants and totalitarians engage in, and that is my true objection.

  3. Why are gays allowed to sexually harrass people. What gives them that right. If you and me tried that on we’d be facing a judge. I remember a while back now a radio presenter kissed a girl who won a competition and she pressed charges and he had to have counselling.

That is the crux of all such issues. It’s incredible how so many people refuse to understand such a simple premise.

  5. See Len Brown wants a five percent (4.9) rise in Auckland rates. Hurrah. Welcome Auckland to the start of a good dose of the medicine you voted for.

  6. Red, the shock of Obama was the catalyst for the Tea Party movement in the US. Who knows, perhaps the shock of Lying Len will have the same impact on Auckland. If nothing else, it might convince the “right” (that’s the centre-left) to put up someone electable. John Banks, FFS?

  7. I really thought John Banks was Aucklands father. Perhaps if he had talked fatherly instead of dissing Otara he might have swayed that strong seat in Manukau. Instead he underestimated it and thought he would carry Howick and Epsom. I honestly didn’t think the brown vote was enough for Len and I still don’t think it will be enough for Phil. Otoh, good news for George Hawkins. He can grow his mou back until he runs again next year. He may even be given deputy after Phil is turfed.

Any predictions for Liarbour leader and deputy after the Elections next year?
