Chavez’s Internet Plan Typifies The Left’s Obsession With Control

Chavez says the reason he needs to regulate the internet is because it is the government’s responsibility to protect its citizens. He’s got that back to front of course. The greater need is for citizens to be protected from their governments. Especially when they’re left wing totalitarian governments as exampled by Chavez and the likes.

According to the Washington Post, Chavez’s congressional allies are considering extending the “Social Responsibility Law” for broadcast media to the Internet, banning messages that “disrespect public authorities,” “incite or promote hatred” or crimes, or are aimed at creating “anxiety” in the population.

Of course, when it comes to “social responsibilities” you can’t go past the left. They’ve made a garbage tip of every country they’ve ever gained control of. Chavez is really trying to protect himself, from the honest and accurate criticism the internet will deliver on his destructive socialist policies. Check the subjective wording of the offences listed above. What kind of barbarians could ever claim that such vague terms should constitute law? I’ll tell you- socialist barbarians and thugs, all across the globe stomping on liberty and individual rights in the name of the collective. They know they preach a failed doctrine, and the only way they can cling to power is to limit the ability of the people to criticise that system.

Chavez is a liar and a thug and a barbarian and a socialist, and he typifies that political group that is coming after the internet with false claims as to why they’re doing it and gangs of jack booted thugs backing them up with draconian legislation, and when that doesn’t work, they’ll use force of arms. His government characterizes the nature of the socialist- what they are working for and what they will become if they manage to gather the power.

Don’t look at Venezuela and think its an anomaly, its where all socialists want to go and the only thing that changes is method. They’re working hard using the same fake excuses but a slightly more sophisticated approach in the UK. The FCC is doing it in the USA. They’ve been jailing bloggers for years in China. They’ll come after the net here in NZ too. I can feel Simon Power’s breath on the back of my neck right now. Its driving them all utterly crazy that nowadays, the rabbit has the gun. Keeping it my fellow bunnies, is going to be the trick.
