Recently a survey on FOX news was flying around the blogosphere. Entitled “Misinformation and the 2010 election, or Fox Makes You Stupid” it was gloated over on the Standard and The Huffington Post and other such places where the low intellect of the left is permanently on display. They gloated over it because the findings of the survey pandered to long held prejudices that the left cling to about FOX News. What the survey claims to find is that the more viewers watched Fox, the more “misinformed” they were on such matters as the stimulus, health care reform, the auto bailout and the state of the economy during the 2010 election cycle.
Intellectual discrimination is beyond the left. In the case of such a survey, it would never occur to them to look further than their noses into findings that would have to raise suspicion in any reasonable person’s mind, not least because of the word “misinformed”.
At the time I never worried too much about the survey. To me it just seemed like the same old rubbish that one gets from prejudiced Progressive sources, like surveys that profess to show that all Conservatives are uneducated or whatever. Just the same old same old rank bullshit that characterizes everything about the left. A few bloggers felt a little stronger on the issue and subjected it to a bit of scrutiny. In no time it all, and as I suspected, it became apparent that the “survey” was utterly meaningless rubbish.
The key to the survey’s disingenuous deceit lies in a “note” that accompanies its findings- “A study of misinformation raises the somewhat delicate question of what is true….In the course of this study, to identify “misinformation” among voters, we used as reference points the conclusions of key government agencies that are run by professional experts and have a strong reputation for being immune to partisan influences….” Apparently the unavoidable subjectivity of this “note” was missed by the survey’s authors.
One of the reasons FOX news is so successful is that it is a broadcaster that actually questions the Obama administration’s actions and policies. Naturally anyone watching it is going to be more inclined to disagree with the”professional experts” behind Obama’s bailouts, his cash for clunkers scheme, or his heath scheme for example than anyone who watches suck-holing broadcasters like MSNBC, CNN or ABC.
Merely that someone disagrees with government policies and people like say Geithner or any other Obama Czars does not make them uninformed. In fact, in my humble and objective opinion, I’d say it means they’re particularly more informed than the poor gullible masses who buy into the disgusting deceitful mainstream media propaganda campaigns that accompany every move Obama makes.
The study was completely fisked by a blogger named Lee Doren, and he has made a video that thoroughly exposes this shameful exercise in academically sanctioned left wing propaganda. He says- After looking at the supposed ‘myths’ that Fox News watchers believe, I quickly realized that something was wrong with the study. As a result, I read the study very carefully and realized that the whole study was bogus. Overall, the study about misinformation and the 2010 election did not have data to support its conclusions. In fact, the study may simply demonstrate that Fox News viewers are more informed than the researchers.
Yet another left wing propaganda lie so easily exposed. Will they ever learn?
Other bloggers have written on the issue here.
Update- Commenter Angus has just correctly pointed out that the group that compiled this extremely dubious survey was funded by millionaire left winger George Soros’s Tides Foundation. Soros is well known to have a serious grudge against FOX News. The funding for the group is listed in the graphic below. (thanks Angus) You see what we are up against folks?

If I’m not mistaken, the whole “survey” was conducted with financing by Soros.

That son-of-a-bitch has his tentacles in every pie. It’s incredible how it all comes back to him, time and time again.

Anyone who doesn’t watch Fox is a dimwit.
John Stossel program on Fox is a must watch. Their business reports is excellent such as exposing the Keynesian destructive policies of the US. Huffington Post authors don’t understand what does that mean or even know what it is, therefore they mock anyone watching fox as misinformed but the reality is, those Fox viewers are very well informed on the falsity of Keynesian theory and its devastating effects (economically).

Yes correct. Stossel is extremely good value.
The whole left wing vendetta against FOX is the same old thing. They must control the argument, because when they don’t, the truth is out.
Because they cannot control FOX, the only real strategy left for them is to try and portray that truth as false.
