Canadian Queers Ban Dire Strait’s “Money For Nothing”

The Dire Straits song Money For Nothing, a staple of classic-rock radio and music-video oldies shows, has been ruled as too offensive for the airways, two and a half decades after its original release.

The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council has found that the word “faggot” in the lyrics breaches the council’s code of ethics. The decision is in response to a complaint against radio station OZ FM in Newfoundland for broadcasting the song last February.

The council said that the song could be aired in an edited version without the offending word.

… the song could be aired in an edited version …

What a shame that we can’t as readily ‘edit’ society of the scourge who push the queer agenda.

[I wonder where your mate Clint stands on this, Red? And thanks for your comments over on his blog re: the McDonalds Wi-Fi filtering of queer sites and all us “embarrassing righties”. He really just doesn’t get it, does he?]

O/T: Speaking of Mr Heine – I’ve just invented a new anacronym. We’re all familar with the term RINO, but of course we don’t have them outside of the States. So I’ve come up with an alternative for the rest of the posers; R-WINO: Right-Wing In Name Only.

We certainly need a new term, and the likes of Mr Heine highlight why.

Hmmm, I’ve seen a few live versions on the internet and just looked at a version live from Wembly in 1985 and Knopfler was singing, “little queen” instead if “little faggot”. I wonder if the gays are any happier with that?

    This is appalling.
The fight against this type of crap decision needs to be stepped up.

As I said earlier, I find this ridiculous and stupid.

However, we have to understand it is worse than that. If we view this as a cultural war, the progressives will be victorious because they insist on re-writing history, whether it is 100 years old or one week old.

You can throw in the recent news of taking the word “nigger” out of Huckleberry Finn.

We have to get Clint and his ilk out of the equation. They’re thoroughly seduced by the homosexual faction, who are clinging to the tails of the so called Libertarians in the hope they can win the concessions they want. And this alienates the Christian faction which is at least three times as powerful as the homosexual faction, so the left win because our forces are weakened.

You would think Clint and his mates would see the value in having the RW Christians on board, (who are all good fighters against the left), and winning the war against the left first, before engaging in any other internal quarrel over homosexuality. They don’t though, they think like leftists. Their head is in liberal la la land. They’re prepared to lose out every time against the left for the sake of their misguided concerns for homosexuals and their aberrational preoccupation with the leftist’s favourite delusion, “fairness” or even more nausea inducing, “equality”.

They’re just a millstone around the neck of those who are really confronting the left. You only have to look at who the left hate and fear the most to know who has the most effective stance against them.

I agree, Red – as far as I’m concerned those on the “Far Right” (and yes, I include genuinely conservative Christians in that number) are the ONLY ones I consider genuinely on the Right. Anything else is just various shades of the Left.

All this “right-wing fiscally, but socially liberal” is just so much BS. As you said, “You only have to look at who the left hate” to know who are (what I consider) genuine Right-wingers.

In most people’s mind the term “right-wing” is such a meaningless shade of grey that it renders itself useless in any attempt to defeat the Left.

Kris, how do I fit with you. I am slightly right of centre fiscally and strongly conservative on social issues. I am also agnostic.

Chuck, perhaps what I consider “Right-wing” most others would consider the “Far Right”. And by definition, conservative Christians would also be “Far Right”. Minimal government, personal responsibility, a strong work ethic, emphasis on strong morality and values which form the basis of laws and policy, and what society as a whole regards as acceptable behaviour. Government by the people, of the people, and for the people.

Pretty much the opposite of the socialist system we have now.

Funny how gays will complain about something like this, but don’t DARE stand up for homosexuals being killed in Islamic lands. They’ll only stand up in countries with wimpy PC governments who give into their every whim, and which doesn’t require any risk at all.

And you never hear the ones who claim to be pro “freedom” condemning this kind of thing either. Quiet as mice.
