Fox news is reporting that Egypt’s new military government has dissolved parliament and suspended the Constitution.
No other news available at this time.
So much for that freedom and democracy that was on its way after Mubarak’s expulsion.
Meanwhile, Yemeni police clashed Sunday with anti-government protesters staging a third-consecutive day of demonstrations calling for political reforms and the resignation of President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
Iran’s opposition on Sunday renewed its call for a rally in support of protesters in Tunisia and Egypt despite a government warning of repercussions if demonstrations take place, a reformist website reported.

I get the very distinct feeling that what we are seeing is the demise of so-called “secular” governments in Muslim countries, and the rise of fundamentalist Islamic regimes who will now rule these same Muslim nations.
Bottom line: We are seeing the unification of the heart of the (North African & Middle East) Muslim world – which will lead to global unification between ALL Muslim nations. Watch and see as the ENTIRE Islamic world becomes more fundamentalist and more unified.

I think this is what is happening as well, Kris, that Islam is unifying.
I’ve just been reading about the First Crusade, when Christians held Jerusalem for 100 years, while being surrounded by Islam. Their initial successes came in part because Islam was politically divided. By the time they were booted out, despite having castles everywhere and a large Christian population for support, they were overwhelmed by a united Islam.
The West has forgotten how dangerous Islam is when unified and armed.

Meanwhile the virtues of the Tunisian “pro democracy”revolution are now being felt by the Italians, who have territory very close to North Africa. Thousands who don’t seem to want to share in the new found freedom overwhelming the Eyeties.

The Normans (who conquered England ,Wales and Ireland around that time and who made up much of the 1st Crusade) were in Sicily fighting the locals and the Arabs long before the Byzantine Emperor called for help to reclaim his lost lands from the invading Arabs.
Every one slags off the crusaders for reclaiming Christian territory while at the same time ignoring the same action in the west.
So it’s OK to attack the invasion of the Holy Land and indeed the reconquest of Spain but we ignore other military invasions by the same people. Not that I care ,just pointing out the hypocracy of the anti Crusade brigade.
The lesson is that the Left and anti Christians only care and shout when the “victims” are non Christians and not westerners. Same thing with Vietnam. Attack the USA for involvement but not China or the Soviets.

I would say two things:
1). The protestors asked for both of these changes as they have no faith in them, they want them replaced by new ones, so the real question is whether the Armed Forces will do that…
2). The Armed forces receives $1,200,000,000 USD in funding from America – completely dependant on keeping the US happy so they will be unlikely to attack Israel…
IMO it the Muslim Brotherhood that is the real scary danger, and I won;t breathe out until a few free and fair elections have passed without them getting into power… Likelihood of this 20% I reckon…
