Is it all futile?

Not blogging much these days, partly because of work commitments, but also because I feel that its all over. The net is dead. It seems to me that many blog conversations (in NZ anyway) have reached a level of banality I don’t need to be part of.

As for the rest of it, the left have increased the angle on their slippery slope and it seems to me that there’s little to do other than prepare for the social disintegration that has been coming for so long.

There’s no hope that any political party is going to get us out of this mess, least of all clueless Key and his bunch of losers and traitors to the National Party. The same applies in most of the western world, with the Tea Party only offering a glimmer of hope.

I hope I’m wrong.

When I started the equivalent of blogging many years ago (my oldest who is now 14, was 1 year old) on internet forums, I used to believe that it was only a lack of information that made people take the positions they did over all sorts of subjects. Boy, have I changed.

Now I know that people will defend almost to the death positions that they somehow know are wrong because they want them to be right. Which is part of the reason, I think why I converted back to the Catholic faith as a result of blogging, I came to realise that the solution to all our problems in the world will not come from human beings, that there is something more and greater at play. We can’t do this alone, and we aren’t alone.

Actually, that is quite true I think Lucia, but in NZ, very few people actually use the net for political information. They prefer the mainstream media. And the mainstream media are a cabal of left wing liars. EOS.

    RB,

But information is only a part of it. And on the net, you can jump into any niche that fits what you believe, even if it’s as crazy as all our leaders being reptilian aliens. If people were given only the correct information, there would still be a number of people who would rebel against the position they ought to take, just because they want to. This perversity of humanity used to drive me nuts at first, I just couldn’t understand it. After talking to enough people that have it, I don’t so much understand but accept it now. There is something in humans that is self-destructive, that will cause us to lie to ourselves, that will prefer death than life, damnation rather than salvation.

Anyway, I did really just want to say it’s only all futile if the aim is to create the perfect world on earth – that is never going to happen. There’s enough human beings on the planet that are driven to destruction to ensure that. However, there is a whole new way of looking at everything that allows a person to not so much be ok with everything that is happening, but more be able to see the greater good that is being enacted, and be able to offer people who are looking for it, hope of something better than just being born, living, working, procreating and dying.

That’s true and when they do it’s usually liberal sites like Stuff and the Herald, which has a bunch of columns allocated to the left. Largely most NZers prefer to be spoon fed their politics by TV 1 and TV 3 “news”.

The internet is really the only form of open expression for most conservatives.

No, it’s not futile. We must keep offering an alternative voice, an alternative outlet for conservative thought.
Some of us fight because that’s what we do. Others, because they believe it may one day make things better. The alternative is to cede the field to the enemy and it’ll be a cold day in hell before I do that.

I’m with Keith on this one. Both Trueblue and CR have had a steady increase in the number of people who have become regular commenters and whom have provided interesting commentary or have linked to newsworthy items that one does not see in the MSM.

And not to be underrated, judging by the number of thumbs down given on this post alone, you are pissing off the leftwing arseholes. : )

Yeah, it is all futile in the public political domain.
The tragedy is that no-one except you and me will reject living on Other People’s Money when offered by govt because that’s what working citizens and corporations and niche mendicants in a democracy do, vote themselves OPM.

    The Fabians therefore must win.

There is a way out….but neither the pollies nor the citizens will countenance it for a second……
a mandated permanently balanced budget ..outside war or apocalypse….means theft is harder, the results of it are instantly obvious….the welfare state is almost impossible to run if the state can’t consume private wealth via inflation.

As Greenspan said in a previous life…..”it’s the grubby little secret of the welfare state”…..

Get independent of them ….with family, friends and some fellow travellers…..
The best revenge is living well.
