…and they call this a “right wing” website?? Pffft… Farcical.

Check out the hate ignorance and filth on display over at David Farrar’s Kiwiblog in the comments to his item on Sarah Palin. (from the NYT some time ago) These people are almost all leftists and progressives, and if they’re what they call the right in NZ then we’re about twice as deep in the stinking leftist sewer as I ever thought.

Kiwiblog- A positive NYT column on Sarah Palin

Most of those sad and disgusting morons, steeped in leftist legend and disinformation, and writing crap almost identical to the ignorant twaddle you see on the Standard, wouldn’t know right wing if they fell over it.

I dunno why the few sensible commenters left there bother.

I thought it ironic, Farrar even bringing up Palin’s speech and the NYT’s reaction to it. Does he not see that his beloved Nats, along with Labour, Greens, Dunne, etc. represent the very ‘permanent political class’ that Palin is talking about.
In fact, NZ is in an even worse position, as unlike in the US, the parties have full control over the nomination process. That’s why a tea party phenomenon can never happen within the Nats, and that’s why they are so useless, and will likely remain so.

Yes, that pretty much spot on Bla, and the Nats and Labour and David Farrar and the mainstream media (and too many of the commenters on Kiwiblog) are all part of the left wing status quo- a permanent power bloc that has to be dislodged if things are to change.

As I have said before, if only we had a Sarah Palin in NZ.

Does anybody have an opinion on what it would take to change the status quo? I’d be very interested to hear it.

    Complete financial collapse.

Keeping in mind it is probably what the hard core left want.

Or maybe a NZ Tea Party (fat chance).

KG-, You probably did not see the Tea Party US Presidential debate on CNN last night. It was quite amazing how the audience cheered so many radical positions. Liberals across the country are terrified-

    Quote-

CNN’s political analyst David Gergen remarked Monday that many Americans were “horrified” at what they heard from the Republican presidential debate, co-sponsored by the Tea Party Express and CNN. “I was getting notes about they ought to keep this people locked up and not let them out. Don’t let them do anything to the country,” Gergen remarked.

Heh..what a CNN “journo” regards as radical is simple commonsense out in the real world.

Complete financial collapse would do it, ok and I’m sure the left does want that. But they may just find that the reality of it isn’t at all what they expected. At least, not what the foot-lemmings expected and wanted. And that would change the landscape in ways they never imagined.

Years ago when I was in the National Party off to conferences etc I saw DPF and his ilk changing the direction and fundamentals of the party and rallied against.
They think they are so smart but don’t have a bloody clue.
Can’t believe those who visit his blog.Have given up on seeing any defense or promotion of Nat principles there.

I stopped reading Mr Penguin’s blog shortly after the last election. It did good work during the dark years of Helen the Hun, but it quickly recast itself into an insipid, soft-left nat-party mouthpiece.

Yep. I feel as if I was sucked in. I really thought Farrar was a small government right winger when it was really all about National/ Labour.
