Makes me think of all those in the various resistance movements in Europe who joined in when it was clear who was winning. Some genuine ones pointed out these were the thugs who attacked the collaborationist women who had had German boyfriends. These were the heroes who tarred and featherd young mothers with children.
France had huge numbers of Vichyists that have been airbrushed out of history.
Mind you the real resistance men and women were the bravest of the brave.In occupied Europe knowing they had no support or escape never knowing who to trust and the repercussions they and their families and communities faced. True patriots.
