AA a Disgusting Trojan Horse For Big Government- Time For A New Motorist’s Association

The NZ Herald reports that the AA motoring affairs general manager Mike Noon said the trial results of red light cameras showed there was “no reason to delay rolling out the cameras throughout the country any longer”.

“Red-light cameras have proved themselves – they work, they are cost effective and they have public support,” he said. “The AA can see no reason not to act now and use these cameras to make our city intersections safer for all road users.”

The AA claims to represent the interests of NZ motorists. Apparently it is staffed by big government toadies who like the left, believe that any perceived problem can be solved by bigger and more heavy handed government. For years they have pandered to every Orwellian idea that government has come up with.

The cost of owning a car has increased greatly, and the pleasure of motoring has been greatly diminished by a plethora of petty rules and regulations. The AA should have been resisting these moves and not applauding them as they have done on so many occasions, and on this occasion with red light cameras.

The AA are big government toadies who have betrayed motorists to Agenda 21 and other sinister socialist ideas. My advice to motorists is to stop funding these left wing boot lickers and start a new organisation. One that stands up for motorists and does not betray them to self serving oligarchs like Auckland Transport road safety manager Karen Hay.

Whats the bet the sniveling little boot licking socialist weasel Mike Noon has absolutely no knowledge that there is a counter argument to the use of red light cameras. The National Motorist’s Association in the USA is a real car owners pressure group. See “10 Reasons To Oppose Red-Light Cameras

  1. They are a cunning bunch of authoritarian pricks.

When the story first came out they said there had been two raod deaths through people running lights in the past year.

What they didn’t say was that one of them was an eighteen year old in a stolen car running from the police and I bet you the other involved the breaking of multiple laws as well.

They sell red light cameras as a safety thing and the sheep who want a safe life (and to live forever) go along with it unthinkingly but not one life will be saved by this – not one!

The money will roll in though and the tolerances will be reduced just like has happened with speed cameras

Exactly, and why the AA should be cheering for this outcome is beyond me. They are betraying the very people who pay the funds that keep them alive.

If I was in it, I’d have cancelled long ago.

  3. I’m glad to hear you bring this up, Redbaiter. I’ve noticed the same thing in Consumer magazine; ie, ‘this product is shoddy, ergo the guvmint needs to make another law’. Grrrr!

  4. The AA gave up advocating for its motorist members when it became a financial services organisation 20-odd years ago.

“AA” attribute is simply a cynical “brand identity” con-job that gives it a “defining point of difference” in the insurance and loan market targeting Kirsty and Phil of Auckland and daffy pensioners [who are oblivious and think it hasn’t changed since they first joined in 1958].

“AA” = proof of the old marketing adage that says “perceptions are reality”.
