Each Asylum Seeker Costs Australian Taxpayers $80,000 Per year

This is a report from Channel Seven in Australia-

Australia takes on 13,500 asylum seekers a year. The arrival rate is at an all-time high despite the fact that refugees have to cross four jurisdictions to get here.

The latest figures show that the Government spends over $4 million a year on cigarettes for detainees, $9 million on airfares flying them around the country, and $5 million a year on phone cards for detainees.

It’s costing tax payers $1 billion a year, averaging out to $80,000 a year per detainee.

Some asylum seekers are put up at four star hotels while they await judgment on their immigration status.

Refugees are also given access to specialist medical and dental care that some pensioners can’t access.

Refugees are allowed access to welfare payments immediately, without having to wait the normal two year newly arrived resident waiting period. They’re also entitled to the Newstart Allowance and the aged pension.

If you’re an Australian taxpayer, or an Australian born old age pensioner, you might find the above facts a little troubling. If so, don’t watch the video, you’ll be risking a heart attack.

Its probably as bad in New Zealand.

  1. I guess no one wanted to leave a comment Red because they didn’t want to heighten their blood pressure. All this can be traced back to the United Nations and their Human Rights shit! Bleed the white nations dry is the motto!

Maybe, or it could be that they’ve just given up.
