Vance should reveal her phone records and her emails

I’m nonplussed at this bs being spouted by the left that journalists should be exempted from normal legal process because they’re “special”.Special in what way? “Vance is a respected senior reporter for a multinational media company.” says the Dim Post. What???? The only remarkable aspect of journalism today that strikes me is that it is so utterly corrupted by left wing political influence it will take decades to recover. If a recovery ever starts.

That aside, if there is a police investigation into a criminal act, such as leaking classified information, then if any person working in any other profession is forced by court order to provide evidence, then why the hell should journalists be treated differently?

Kim Dotcom should never have been spied upon by NZ security agencies. He was not conspiring with subversives here or overseas to destroy our country. He was no threat to the security of NZ.

Andrea Vance was involved in leaking a government document just so she could “scoop” her opposition. If there are any recriminations due, then she should be treated the same as anyone else involved in the case, and give up her phone records and emails if the court orders her to.

The core of this argument is not so much if it was right to leak the documents or not. The real issue is should journalists be treated as special people. I say no damn way.

Isn’t Vance ex News of the World?

If so, it would be grossly hypocritical for her to be flaunting such indignation regarding intrusions into her own telephone privacy.

Even if she isn’t, she is sill part of the same leftist media that couldn’t get it’s hands quick enough on emails stolen from Don Brash after they were stolen and put on offer by Nicky (it’s a girl’s name isn’t it?) Hagar.

Blatant shameless hypocrites, the lot of them.

    Bill.

Exactly right Bill, they’re nobody special as they think they are, and anyone else’s emails they wouldn’t hesitate to publish them.

Funny, how we ordinary folk can’t make deals with prosecutors……
