Jon Stewart started his Wednesday night show with clips from the media world commenting on his leaving the Daily Show. Naturally, Fox News had some less than favorable things to say about the late night comedian, including host Megyn Kelly claiming his show’s attacks on her over the years had “no foothold in the facts.”
That was more than Jon Stewart could take, and in response he challenged Fox News to a “lie-off.” But in the process of chastising Fox News for ideological bias, Stewart seemed to exhaust himself, ending the segment by explaining how watching the network was “killing him.”
“Take it from someone who’s been watching what they do for a blessedly almost over 16 years or so. Their chronically angry war for ideological purity, where every aspect of life becomes a two dimensional battle for America’s soul—it ages you. Even watching it is killing me.”
He added that the Daily Show, on the other hand, doesn’t lie, even showing off their resident fact-checker. I’m looking forward to FOX’s response to this idiotic self serving claim. IMHO, the only people who ever took Stewart seriously are progressive hipsters who strive to be “ironic” and “cool”, and fail miserably at both while projecting an extremely irritating air of smug superiority. Like they would ever know or care if something was true or not anyway.
