Do you care about liberty, small government and the rights of the individual? If so, here’s something that will no doubt morph into a full frontal assault on those political convictions.

Deputy Prime Minister Bill English and Maori Affairs Minister Pita Sharples announced today. “The Government will conduct a review of New Zealand’s constitutional arrangements. The review is deliberately wide-ranging and will include matters such as the size of Parliament, the length of the electoral term, Maori representation, the role of the Treaty of Waitangi and whether New Zealand needs a written constitution.”

Really. That these weak posturing big government worshipping trough feeders and racists should presume themselves capable of the duties they assume is an insult to anyone with a brain cell. I do not want anybody in the current parliament in opposition or government having anything to do with any “Constitution”. What could this collection of cowardly disgusting statists ever produce other than the most foul insult to civilisation.

As you would expect, they’re lying and laying the groundwork for their deceit already. “Public consultation will guide the review, and information and education campaigns will be part of the review process,” Dr Sharples says.

Since when have John Key and the Nationals given a damn about “public consultation”? Remember the anti-smacking bill? Since when have Labour ever cared? Remember the increased penalties for crime referendum? We know of course what Pita Sharples means when he says “information and education campaigns”. Its a euphemism for Goebellian propaganda whereby millions of dollars of your money will be spent on television commercials containing lies and misrepresentations and distortions.

State radio and television will produce “objective” programs that subtly promote the Progressive viewpoint. Really, nothing has so filled me with such political dread as this announcement. The very suggestion that these shallow confidence tricksters might be proposing to produce a Constitution should make any thinking person terrified.

Such things are only successful and worthy when they are born from warfare and rebellion. These fat lazy bludgers and career statists will never produce anything but a document laden with the poison of the current Progressive thinking that has brought this country to perhaps the lowest point in its cultural history. No Constitution. Not perhaps until another three or four generations have passed and the destructive political mix of pseudo-liberalism, racism, fascism and Marxism that currently grips this country has run its evil course. Maybe even a lot longer than that.
