Bomb On Plane Joke- The “Authorities” Are Idiots

Cabin crew, (meaning some self important jumped up trolly dolly) asked a Virgin passenger to put his shoulder bag under the seat rather than on the seat next to him. The passenger, no doubt a moron, responded by saying, “leave it there, maybe it’s got weapons and bombs in it”. He was then removed from the plane as the Cabin crew regarded his comments as “a threat to the aircraft”.

It doesn’t stop there. The passenger was prosecuted in the Adelaide (Australia) Magistrate’s Court and fined $3250. The report does not specify what the charge was. Magistrate Joseph Baldino told Brown his assertions might have been empty threats as there were no bombs or weapons in the bag. But he said “the authorities” were well within their rights to take the comments seriously. Mr Baldino said the offending would have created alarm and fear in the minds of the passengers who also had their travel delayed. “This is not a trivial offence by any stretch of the imagination,” he said.

What utter bollocks. If there had been any common sense at all used here, the cabin crew would have responded with a firm directive to the passenger to put his bloody bag where he was told to put it and that should have been the end of it. That we have allowed the fear of terrorism and over the top security on planes to lead to a situation like this is something that proves the claim that the terrorists are winning.

The guy was silly to make the joke, but that is all it was. A silly joke. The plane crew were bigger idiots for making a big deal of it and throwing the passenger off the plane. The “authorities” were idiots for wasting taxpayer money taking this fool to court. He’s homeless and broke and will not pay the fine or the costs ever. The judge is the biggest damn fool for giving the plane crew and the “authorities” credibility by endorsing their actions with his daft statements and a conviction.

This man did nothing. He did nothing criminal and not even mischievous. He merely uttered a few silly words, and for western civilisation to be held hostage to such ridiculous laws as this (and that the hopeless reporter will not even identify) shows either the terrorists have won or we are all weak and spineless idiots.

  1. Sorry Red but the guy was a moron and deserved everything he got.

This jackass stupidity crops up all over the place . It’s in the papers all the time. He’s probably a right wanker at the best of times and loves making other people’s jobs hard for them to do.

If the shoe was on the other foot he’d be demanding his rights etc. Spoiled brat type.

For what? Uttering a few stupid words? He did nothing that deserves any such penalty. This is outrageous hysteria and an attack on freedom that should not be tolerated in a sane and civilised society.

  3. Freedom of speech is so important, so we can let people say what they believe and then tell who the idiots are…

This guy fits squarely in the idiot catergory…

But freedom of speech should never be curtailed short of making a direct threat on another’s life or knowingly defaming them… He didn’t do either of those…

I’m with that raging liberal Bill Maher on this, introduce a “take your chances” airline with no security checks – just show up 20 mins before the plane takes off and throw your bag to the check in clerk…

  4. What he should have said:
“As a good Mulsim it is my cultural right to have ready access to my hand luggage. You are violating my cultural rights if you refuse to allow me to keep them on the adjacent seat. I will be using this luggage later in the flight to make a cultural statement.”

I can guarantee you that no further action whould have been taken …

  6. Yes and no. It’s time we stopped making ANY jokes about terrorism; it’s just a way of avoiding the deeper issue. Leave the not-funny-jokes-as-dodgeball to Maher, Letterman etc (and while you’re at it, just take a look at the fear in their eyes as they say them).

    Harden up people !
