Nicaragua’s Communist President Ortega Expresses Solidarity With Gaddafi.

Helen Klark is reputed to have spent some time in Nicaragua picking coffee with the Sandanistas, possibly in the company of Margaret Wilson who when she wasn’t running off to visit Soviet Russia, was also a patron of the Labour Party Nicaragua Support Committee, and in July of 1986 accompanied by Helen Clark, visited Nicaragua en route to the Socialist International meeting in Peru. There’s little doubt that both Wilson and Klark are friends of the Communist Daniel Ortega, who for most of his life has been a leader of the Sandinista National Liberation Front.

Another socialist dictator Gaddafi is presently busy using his Army Navy and Airforce to murder his citizens en masse as he struggles to hold on to the power that is the only thing that will preserve his life. The Associated Press reports that-

President Daniel Ortega says he has telephoned Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi to express his solidarity. Ortega says he has called several times this week because Gadhafi “is again waging a great battle” to defend the unity of his nation. Ortega has long been an ally of the Libyan leader, based in part on a shared distrust of the United States. Ortega says that “it’s at difficult times that loyalty and resolve are put to the test.” Ortega made his comments Monday night at an event commemorating Nicaraguan revolutionary hero Augusto Cesar Sandino. Yes well, socialists must all stick together I suppose. Wonder if Gaddafi’s had any like messages from Helen and Margaret.

  1. I confess that IF the U.S. had the resources, which it does not, I would not hesitate to use the military to disarm and overthrow Castro, Ortega, Kim Il Sung, Qaddaffi, Chavez, Ahmadinejad, and Putin. But tht’s just me.
