Christopher Finlayson breathlessly announces yet another monstrous scam on working New Zealanders with an agreement to fork over $11.9 million to some “Maori” tribe who claim they were hard done by some time and even though they have not had that claim tested in court. And the tribe probably have as much European blood in them as Maori. And nobody who is a live and paying tax today in NZ had anything to do with said grievances even if they do exist.
How anybody with any kind of rational brain can justify this bloody sop to separatism is beyond me. Here we are borrowing $300 million a week to keep a legion of bludgers employed, and faced with paying for the devastation of Christchurch, and yet we’re simultaneously wasting time and money on this outrageous scam..!!! Stop the settlements process immediately. Disband the Waitangi tribunal. We have no more time or money or tolerance for this extravagant and wasteful charade.
The Crown and Ngāti Mākino have signed a Deed of Settlement to settle Ngāti Mākino’s historical Treaty of Waitangi claims, Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations Minister Christopher Finlayson announced today. The Deed of Settlement sets out commercial redress worth $11.9 million and includes the return of culturally significant sites, marae restoration and revitalisation, and social service development. Ngāti Mākino was represented at today’s signing by the Ngāti Mākino Iwi Authority and the Crown was represented by Mr Finlayson.

Thats not much compared to the $70m he paid out to Gnati Pahuwera in Hawkes Bay last year. That along with the Mohaka forest (as well as giving them management over part of the Mohaka River.)
