Andrew Bolt has not blogged for some time and his site bears the cryptic message-
No politics until further notice. Principles to weigh up. Faith to keep. Sorry.
Some days ago Bolt published a comment on an article by Glen Milne in the Australian newspaper. He also said
“On Monday, I’m tipping, a witness with a statutory declaration will come forward and implicate Julia Gillard directly in another scandal…”
Milne’s opinion piece alleged that Prime Minister Julia Gillard had somehow been an accomplice to her one-time partner Bruce Wilson’s alleged fraud. Late yesterday The Australian issued an apology to the PM and scrubbed the story from its website, issuing the following statement-
THE AUSTRALIAN published today an opinion piece by Glenn Milne which includes assertions about the conduct of the Prime Minister. The Australian acknowledges these assertions are untrue. The Australian also acknowledges no attempt was made by anyone employed by, or associated with, The Australian to contact the Prime Minister in relation to this matter. The Australian unreservedly apologises to the Prime Minister and to its readers for the publication of these claims.
Andrew Bolt has now removed his quotes from the article that appeared on his blog. The witness in Bolt’s statement was widely believed to be the writer of the original article, Glenn Milne. It turned out to be Michael Smith of Sydney radio station 2UE. However Smith decided late yesterday not to discuss Milne’s story or read the promised statutory declaration.
There’s no official explanation as to Bolt’s silence, but it has to be connected in someway to the Glen Milne article. If the Australian with all its resources needed to apologise, I’d say Bolt will also be forced to apologise or else resign. He may even be facing legal action once again. Meanwhile, the truth of the Gillard matter remains under a cloud of left wing murk and silence.
Sure takes the heat off the Thompson scandal. Bolt has been the most successful destroyer too of the left’s global warming scam. They hate him intensely for speaking out against their plans and mustering opposition to their power seeking schemes.
Someone possessed of a suspicious mind might think the left wing of the Australian media had engineered the whole thing. Naaah, no way those guardians of truth and light would ever be guilty of that kind of deception.
UPDATE– (hat tip KG)
Bolt has recently posted the following message on his blog-
After discussions, I now feel free to speak my mind. So I shall. In tomorrow’s column. I apologise for the mysteriousness, but I did not want to act in anger or before matters had been resolved. I had to be fair to my employer and to my readers, and I apologise if you think I’ve had the balance wrong over the past 24 hours.
Not exactly, Bolta made clear that although Jooles acted legally for her unionist then boyfriend there was no suggestion she knew of his intent.
Sounded like a matter of fact with Bolta’s qualification of her action covering his reporting of it pretty well.

mmmm…dunno. Bolt appears to have covered himself very carefully when he aired those allegations.
Perhaps his media bosses are leaning on him to tone down the Gillard/union coverage and he’s considering pulling the pin as a result of that pressure?
Because one thing’s for sure–the ruling elite have far more in common with one another (and more to fear from that becoming accepted wisdom) than they care to let on.

The ALP is full of ex union thugs and lawyers, including Julia Gillard.
I would not be surprised if there have been threats made against Andrew Bolt as there was with Kathy Jackson for speaking up about union corruption linked to ALP politicians.
I really hope this isn’t the case for all our sakes.
Andrew has been saying for a while now with regard to the political blogs “comment here while you still can”.
I hope he has just taken a well earned break from his hectic schedule and will be back soon.

It’s all here……
Curiouser and curiouser, Milne will not have published without the straight up facts being correct.
Now repeated by Their ABC.
Bolta maybe reckons his News Ltd editorial bosses backed down without reason.

Well, it was an opinion piece not a news report. Secondly even if they had asked Gillard for a comment she probably wouldn’t have had one. Thirdly, the claims made by Milne (according to the Australian) are recognised as a “matter of public record”, so why the apology?
I still wait to here what the actual inaccuracies were and what the truth is. This could quite easily be an attempt to shut down debate by a desperate and cornered rat of a Prime Minister.
She’s already well known to be an unprincipled liar.

Oh my……..here’s the jesus nut…….
Boyfriend Wilson as AWU State Secretary is alleged in the Stat Dec to have authorised work on Jooles’s house as demonstrated by the building contractors demanding payment from the AWU.
A single word of this is true and Jooles is finished.

She didn’t know where the money came from. She thought her boyfriend paid the builders out of his own pocket.

It won’t do KG.
The electorate need only one more bit of comrade union privilege to reduce Labor to a NSW like rump. Even 2 years out Jooles is finished.
Alas, the alternative is as nearly a Fabian Wet as Key….but close.

If a combination of the media and edukashun system have produced vast herds of zombie lemmings–and they have– then the only hope for the future is a complete economic meltdown.
Socialism can’t survive without other people’s money. Trouble is, cutting off the oxygen that way is going to hurt a lot of decent people too.

“Decent” people will get by, KG. Some will hurt, but those with the independent spirit (you know, those the world actually *needs*) will make do, and ultimately prosper. Fact is, too many people *think* they survive on OPM, when in fact all that’s happening is the state is recycling their own money back at them. If the middle classes ever realise how much extra tax they pay to get the Working for Families “entitlements” there’d be blood in the streets. Sadly, they think if they raise a stink they’ll lose their “entitlements” and therefore they are cowed into submission.

Just so, Gantt. Although I was thinking more along the lines of decent people will get preyed of by the ferals when the welfare protection money is withdrawn…
I said above:

See Andrew Bolt’s blog this morning. That’s exactly what happened.

Yes. An “inquiry into media ownership”. The threats don’t get much more blatant than that, do they?

They sure don’t. Union thuggery meets lefty government–and they have much to thank one another for.
