News item in today’s NZ Herald:
The Green Party has this morning launched an ambitious $2.5 billion plan to generate 100,000 new jobs,
See post below for Green Party link to “Pure Advantage” group.
The blurb on Pure Advantage’s website–
We have developed a campaign to work with communities, businesses, Government and iwi to create sustainable economic growth, and assist New Zealand to become a leading exporter of high-value produce, renewable energy and clean technology, with a top-tier in-bound tourism industry.
Yeah of course- “work with government”, a euphemism commonly used by crony capitalists in search of grants, low interest loans, subsidies and investments all financed by the hard pressed NZ taxpayer. I say this to the people behind Pure Advantage-
If you’ve got such great business skills, and such great business ideas, then just go and damn well do it.
Don’t cuddle up to crypto-communists like the self serving political chameleon Russell Norman, and demand the government subsidize your businesses.
Don’t collaborate with those whose only long term interests are to destroy capitalism.
Leave government out of this. Leave any political party out of this. Most of all, leave the hard pressed New Zealand taxpayer out of this,
If you’re so confident about the business opportunities, and so confident of your own business acumen, then what the hell is stopping you?? Go for it. Pour as much of your own money into any business you like.
The US is suffocating and dying in a morass of crony capitalism. Already too deeply entrenched here in NZ, we definitely don’t need any more of it.
DO IT YOUR DAMN SELF.
LEAVE THE NZ TAXPAYER OUT OF IT.
…and readers, if you’re still unconvinced as to who and what is really behind this then go here
The Framework (of the Communist Party of USA/ Congressional Progressive Caucus) outlines six areas of focus for immediate and long term job creation: Make it in America Again, Rebuild America, Lead the Green Industrial Revolution, Jobs for the Next Generation, Not Just Jobs – Good Jobs, and Fair Taxes – Shared Sacrifice.
Interesting discussion on “Pure Advantage” at the bottom of this thread.

What a joke- their Chief Trustee used to be the Chief Financial Officer for GM, who as everyone knows, made (shock horror) cars..!!! and couldn’t even do that half right, and they’ve also got Stephen Tindall on board who has made a fortune out of trading mainly with China, the biggest polluter and contributor to greenhouse gases on earth.
Not to mention the usual assortment of free loaders and affirmative action dolly birds.

These leeches and self-important wankers disgust me. They never, ever pick up the tab for or admit responsibility for their stuff-ups.
Most of them are taxpayer-funded from cradle to grave and they never have to grow up in the interim.

Well GM has for decades just been a front for funding extreme left union political power while they lost thousands on every car they sold.

I think I am at the point where I no longer even get angry at stuff like this. I face the other side of bad capitalists where I work, six days a week, with a Chinese boss who avoids every tax and regulation he can (and not subtly, if the taxman ever pays him a visit he is gone for all money), while treating the mainly western staff like shit… and the Chinese ones much worse. Worst of all, he may save a couple of hundred by paying a Chinese repairman under the table, but they NEVER get the job done properly, and we have mounting equipment underperformance which in some cases is costing him vastly more than if he had just hired an honest westerner in the first place. Quite literally he is pouring money down the drain with his corruption.
I no longer believe it can keep going on like this. I really welcome the moment when TSHTF, as some US conservatives would put it. Who would want to save what we’ve got?

Me too. The only downside is that a lot of decent people are going to suffer, too.

Why are businessmen spending large sums on advertising the slogan: “Even if you don’t believe in climate change, there’s money to be made doing something about it”.
This is a bare-faced giveaway of the cynical opportunism behind the global warming scam!
The lobby is calling for people to support climate change policies even if they know it’s nonsense. This is the very accusation made in the opinion polls – scientists fiddle the books because “there’s money to be made”. Sceptics charge that politicians are similarly motivated. Now we have businesses openly boasting that “there’s money in being green”, and inviting all and sundry to join the bandwagon.
There’s no suggestion that climate change is a genuine threat. Oh no, it’s a great opportunity … you too can make money from this scam!
Unlimited cynicism.

Yep, you’re right, its outright disgraceful. Its an advertisement for the kind of cynicism that leads to outcomes like Solyndra. $528 million dollars of taxpayer money into the pockets of cronyists.

It’s worth repeating the comment I left on Pure Advantage’s Facebook page, with respect to their cuddly relationship with Greenpeace.
Dr Patrick Moore, a founding member of Greenpeace, made this statement about the organisation he helped to create: “Greenpeace became increasingly senseless as it adopted an agenda that is antiscience, antibusiness, and downright antihuman” http://bit.ly/gve8rv
So my question is, why would a business consortium promoting growth support an organisation that is “antiscience, antibusiness, and downright antihuman” according to its co-founder?

Yep, excellent question.
I wonder- Do they know, or do they know and not care.
