Generally, I don’t like National’s current crop of politicians. I see them as weak and intimidated by leftmedia and too frightened and/or ideologically crosswired to be any kind of potent political force. Most are more suited to the Labour Party.
One National politician I have a bit of time for is Tony Ryall. Sure, he’s put a foot wrong now and again, but he spends a lot of time working quietly away in the background doing things that are really quite important.
Like cutting the numbers of public servants working in unnecessary or duplicated government positions. These people are all Labour voters, and need to be fired for two good reasons, democracy and the country’s prosperity.
Helen Klark stacked the public service with Labour sympathisers. She knew every worker on the public payroll was a potential vote for Labour. These people are not only a drain on the public purse, they disrupt the equilibrium of our democracy. They have to be removed.
Good on you Tony Ryall for doing something real in the political battle.
She knew every worker on the public payroll was a vote for Labour.
I can tell you out of the 10,000 cops, very few vote Labour.

Yeah well front line cops are different. (You need to understand I acknowledge the government’s right to enforce law)
That said, I’d say most senior cops would be Labour voters. Especially the women.
But its the Labour voting bureaucracy that is the problem. Shadowy back room boys such as are being fired in the subject story. Faceless grey ghosts who do nothing but drain the public purse and vote left.
Its why I said- “Like cutting the numbers of public servants working in unnecessary or duplicated government positions.”
Edit-Inserted the word “potential” just for you 🙂

That would be like those that run blogs like The Stranded and NRT on taxpayer time?
I however do wonder how much of the working day is spent non-productive on union matters by ‘the Labour voting bureaucracy’.

Thanks for reminding me. I’m almost 20 minutes behind schedule already.

Quite right, Red. In a team exemplified by average ability, and where it should be so easy to shine (but so few do), Ryall manages to stand out. I remember a couple years ago when he first took over the Health portfolio, he used to turn up unannounced (and often didn’t even say who he was) at the hospitals and just start talking with the docs and nurses. The Ministry of Health bureaucrats went ballistic about it and he just told them to STFU because he didn’t want their sanitsed stories, he wanted to hear the truth from the people actually healing people. Great stuff.

Thanks RB, lol. I know a few frontline cops who would not be happy being counted amongst the voters for the angry, envy party.

Then they can be counted for freedom. Where are the police prosecutions of Labour & Greens for their illegal campaign that ended just over a week ago? Where are the police prosecutions of the activists attacking the National & ACT signs> Where are the police sweeping the streets clean of the communist Occupiers?
One unionist, or one activist does more damage to NZ than 10 murderers or 100 thieves.
It’s time the cops decided which side they are on!
