It is reported that at least three producers with the San Francisco news station KTVU-TV have been fired after the obviously fake names of Asian Airlines pilots were read on air. General Manager Tom Raponi issued a statement-

“Consistent with our apology, we are carrying through with our responsibility to minimize the thoughtless repetition of the video by others.”

Strangely the idiot announcer who read out the names seems to have been spared. If the GM’s statement has any real meaning, one would expect she would have been first to go. Or maybe its just a given these days that television presenters are just airheaded robots and little more is expected from them.
