National- as cynical as any other socialist party

I read where both John Key and Steven Joyce have stated they are “non-committal” about funding another America’s cup.

This is of course code for let’s see which way the wind is blowing.

Ted Cruz they are not.

Stand up you useless bastards and tell the New Zealand people exactly why government’s role should be severely limited and why it should not be promoting tourism or sporting events or doing any kind of corporate cronyism.

After all, its in your founding principles, and if you can’t abide by them, what the hell are you doing in the National Party.

Piss off and join Labour.

  1. That’s exactly it, Red. Funding sporting events and getting involved in the private sector is not the government’s domain. And yes, they are nowhere near Ted Cruz. He spoke for some 21 hours non stop, not even to go to the toilet over Obama care–well done.

And if either of those two Quisling bastards believed the government’s role should be limited by anything other than what the government desires its limits to be, I’m sure they would tell the New Zealand people exactly that.

The sad fact is, they have no such belief. And as for National’s founding principles, they have been shown to be, if nothing else, Marxian. Groucho Marxian (as in, if you don’t like these principles I have others).

But hey, let’s look on the bright side. If they’re not throwing $36 million of our hard-earned at a bunch of rich white pricks to go boat racing, they can put it where it rightly belongs – into the hands of the corporate IWI. I’m sure $36 million will placate, pacify or otherwise deal with a whole squadron of taniwha.
