NZ’s MSM has a large faction of Marxist feminists who have a personal interest in seeing Hillary Clinton elected as President of the US. Prior to writing this post I did a search in the New Zealand media for the term “Hillary lied.” I got no responses outside of the Progressive blog Whaleoil, where the issue was the servers she ran from her home. Nothing in the MSM.

In fact Hillary Clinton’s worst lies were exposed in respect of the Al Qaida attack on the US embassy in Benghazi Libya, when four Americans died including the Ambassador and three heavily outnumbered Servicemen/ Marines who were killed trying to fight off the attackers. The attack took place on the anniversary of the Twin Towers terrorist event.

There are a number of aspects to this issue and they relate to why Hillary’s lies have such significance. The first is these lies were not just the usual political stuff about budget surpluses or employment rates of whatever, they were lies surrounding the lives that were lost.

Second is the motive for the lies. With the election looming, it was important that Barack Obama’s image was not damaged. Especially that part of it which asserted Obama had terrorism under control, and that his change of approach had made the world a friendlier place for Americans.

So we have the most cynical purpose for lies surrounding the deaths of the US ambassador and the US Marines, who defended heroically to the death without the support that could have been sent. (Why not? The obvious implication is that to send in a Marine force would have escalated the event. Did Obama & Hillary deliberately let the marines die in order to keep the event low profile?)

Thirdly we have the actual lies themselves. These related to the motive above, and were designed to deflect from the fact that this was a serious terrorist attack by Al Qaida. They were cheap and nasty and cowardly, especially when told to the victims’ families. Here is the initial detail-

As FactCheck.org chronicled on Friday, and L. Gordon Crovitz detailed in the Wall Street Journal on Monday, Clinton issued a statement on the attack at 10:32 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on September 11, 2012. It read, in part: “Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others.”

At 11:12 p.m., just 40 minutes later, Hillary e-mailed her daughter, Chelsea, with the truth: “Two of our officers were killed in Benghazi by an al Qaeda-like group.”

At 11:49 p.m., Hillary contacted Libyan president Mohamed Magariaf, also with the truth: “There is a gun battle ongoing, which I understand Ansar [al] Sharia is claiming responsibility for.” This group is al-Qaeda’s Libyan franchisee.

Next day, September 12th, Hillary resumed her lies-

“Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior, along with the protest that took place at our embassy in Cairo yesterday, as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet,” she said in a speech at the State Department. “America’s commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear — there is no justification for this, none.”

Hillary toggled back to private-truth mode at 3:04 p.m., when she phoned Hisham Qandil, prime minister in Egypt’s Islamist Muslim Brotherhood government. She told him: “We know the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack — not a protest. Based on the information we saw today, we believe that the group that claimed responsibility for this was affiliated with al-Qaeda.”

Hillary lied again September 14 in the most despicable way, during the ceremony at Andrews Air Force Base in which she and Obama welcomed home the flag-draped caskets of U.S. ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, technical officer Sean Smith, and former Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.

“We’ve seen rage and violence directed at American embassies over an awful Internet video that we had nothing to do with,” Hillary said.

At the same ceremony she told Tryone Woods’s father

“We will make sure that the person who made that film is arrested and prosecuted.”

These despicable lies were uttered to cover up facts that would have contradicted the comforting campaign theme that Obama unveiled at the Democrat National Convention just five days before Benghazi: “al-Qaeda is on the path to defeat, and Osama bin Laden is dead.”

Here’s a video wherein Marco Rubio reacts to questions from “journalist” Charlie Rose as to why he called Hillary a liar during the CNBC debate the night before. Rubio explains the situation well, and it notable that Rose’s angle is to defend Hillary, when if he and the rest of his cowardly scum palace guard were doing their job, they would be shining light on Hillary’s deceit. This is the same media that popularised the catchphrase “Bush lied, people died”.

Contrary to Roses’ claims, the CIA did not back up Obama or Clinton on their lies. Mike Morell, Deputy director of CIA at the time said in his memoirs “The White House blamed the Benghazi attack on the video which is not something CIA did in its talking points or in its classified analysis”

Yesterday on Twitter a well known NZ media academic said this to me

“Journalist culture: Keep the buggers honest” tends to be anti-authority/establishment. Is that a “bias”

Yes, really he did say that. I told him that was not so and that in my observations journalists in the NZ media and progressive politicians were a monolithic force that rather than shining light, combined to keep truth from the public.

The failure of the MSM to tell NZers the truth on Hillary Clinton is an excellent example of this deceit.
